Hope your 'little' group enjoys the afternoon. Had at one time thought of driving on down but with the snow here....nope It is pretty but I just don't like to be on the highways during snowy weather unless I have to. Hey LJ, I have been busy doing some R.E. today over the 'phone!!! So guess I had better get back to 'work' Hey, have a good day y'all...

Cookie Exchange update
It looks like it's only LJ, MrsC and MrC attending so we've decided to move it to The White River Fish Company at 1:30 for lunch. LJ will be getting LOTS of cookies...I made about 18 doz of three types plus cranberry bliss bars and apricot chocolate dreams. ..ok got carried away.
If anyone is in the area and wants to join us the White River Fish Co. is at the Bass Pro end of the landing on the water adjacent to the parking lot.
Happy Holidays and hope to see everyone again in 2008!

Ohhh! I'm sorry I missed it, MrsC! I hope you all had a great lunch and are enjoying your cookies! We got slush last night which was still frozen in the morning even though most everything looked pretty normal since there was no snow.
We got light snow off and on and then got quite a bit this afternoon...but nothing too deep. I just hope the roads aren't icy in the morning. We have a children's program planned for the morning and the adults are doing a musical program in the evening. I don't know what time the kids have to be there but the adults are expected to be there at 4:30pm for our practice. I'm singing Season of Love by Jaci Velasquez and the butterflies are already getting a headstart.
I'm sorry you didn't get any snow down there in Branson...actually, did you ever get any this evening?
Keep warm and drive carefully, friends!

Snow & cookies.
We had a lovely small group and a delightful lunch at the White River Fish Company. Amazing setting, it started snowing while we drank irish coffee & nibbled on crab cakes & portobello mushrooms.
Oh, my.
We missed you all...just got a little snow here.
I'm keeping warm eating cookies.

White River Fish Co. and cookies...yummo. Can't decide what I enjoyed more..the french fried portabello's, the Irish Coffee's, cookies, the lunch, or the company (LJ & MrC). Oh yea,..had to the be company. Also enjoyed the light snow that took place while we were laughing and reliving our snowy pasts (in my case not so much).
We thought of the rest of the OTFCC bunch. Hope your having a wonderful day with no/little snow.
Oh yes, My husband is in love with LJ's grandmother...or at least her cookies!

Nibbled on crab cakes and portobello mushrooms! I think even the most committed squirrel-eatin' inbred potted meat-breath dobro plucker (thanks, Dunlap! ) would enjoy such an experience on a snowy day! (From one pinkneck to another. )
Lake Junkie, if you ever make it back out here to California, there's a wonderful tea room in Sutter Creek called Tea Eras. My wife and I, who have visited this place before on a number of occasions but hadn't eaten there, finally made reservations and had lunch there back on the 8th of this month. She ordered the Royaltea, served with lovely finger sandwiches, fruit and desserts on a three-tiered plate holder, as well as outstanding portobello mushroom soup. I ordered the Specialtea, a smaller version of the Royaltea, and chose the salad over the soup (very hard decision to make! They were both great.). Mrs. Northbayeric had a San Francisco blend type of tea and I had the caffeine-free cranberry spice. Two tea pots--good for about six small cups!
Sutter Creek has the best old-fashioned Christmas celebrations just about anywhere in California, along with Ferndale. We can't wait to celebrate Christmas in Missouri next year! At least in Sutter Creek the weather was in the mid-40s and pretty overcast, so nothing like Pasadena on New Year's when it's 85 degrees and everyone's in shorts!
Can't wait to head down your way one of these days and join all of you! Do any of you know what's up with Boof?

Here's a Boof update...
Hi, Eric!
I have been in touch with Boof. Her dog, Maggie, is still having some major health issues and Boof is struggling through that. The dog doesn't like to go into the room where the computer is so Boof isn't going online much. She stays near Maggie in case she has another stroke like episode.
Boof is a huge animal lover and Maggie is her constant companion, which has been a source of comfort to Boof since moving to the country here in MO. The doctors can't seem to figure out the source. Maggie will do better for awhile and then go back to having episodes again. Please keep Maggie and Boof in your prayers! I'm sure she'll be blessed to know you asked about her!
P.S. That tea room sounds wonderful!

Prayers for Boof and her dear Maggie
Hey Mrs. G., 10-4 on your note, and thanks for letting me know the latest on Boof. My own little dog just turned 15 back on the 11th of this month and is doing adequately health-wise. About a year and a half ago she developed severe glaucoma in her right eye, so bad that it had to be removed. Her one good eye has some scar tissue on it so her vision isn't too good. But thank God no strokes or anything really major like that. One of our vets is concerned that she might have Cushing's Disease, which is somewhat like diabetes from what I understand. But she isn't eating or drinking too much, so I think she's OK as far as that goes. Various skin infections over the years that have cleared up with antibiotics.
I'm just a total dog lover too. I hope ours can make it back to St. Joseph OK, but I think when she passes away we'll plan to adopt another dog within 2 or 3 months afterwards. Thank you so much for supporting Boof the way you have!
Yeah, Tea Eras is a great place! It's in a big Victorian house right in the old historic part of Sutter Creek, and you go down a flight of stairs to get to the tea room area. A big chandelier, dark wood trim and an old wooden floor. On the main floor there's a gift shop off to the left and another gift shop and counter where you can buy different kinds of teas to the right. As much as I gripe about California and the Bay Area, that part of the Gold Country from Auburn down Highway 49 through Placerville, Sutter Creek, Jackson, Angels Camp and over to Jamestown is a great place to visit! The terrain of much of southern Missouri reminds me of the Sierra foothills. These Gold Rush towns make you feel like you're stepping back in time--a little like Hermann, Ste. Genevieve and so many other Missouri towns. Mrs. NBE and I have just totally OD'd on the Bay Area and we want out!
Again, please give Boof my very best, and happy continued Advent season to you all!

I know we've got to get this back on topic so to do that, I just have to say that I wish there was a place like that here for our OTFCC! It sounds like a great place and I love trying flavored teas and buying in bulk! There's a whole lot to be said for ambiance, which is of course what brought you to bring up Tea Eras, after reading about this month's OTFCC meeting. It sounded like fun, huh?
I look forward to eventually going to the place we planned to go this month...the one at the college. I'm beginning to have a list of places I want to go to in Branson! Who knew???!!! Hahaha!
I'll pass your words and well wishes on to Boof.
