Hello~
I will be moving to Ozark from AZ at the end of Sepetmeber. Does anyone know the names of some phone and high-speed internet companies that service the Ozark area? Thank you!

I'm not positive, Jessica, but check out Suddenlink |. Put in your address and see what comes up. I had them for internet and cable and was verrrry happy with them...until they sold my area to another company. I live in a town next to Ozark and Suddenlink even has an office in Ozark so I'm pretty sure they're still there.

I have phone and internet now through CenturyTel. Their website is CenturyTel - Home. I understand they have satellite, too, but I hate having to get into a contract so I wouldn't recommend satellite for that reason.

I've been very happy with both companies for internet so you can't go wrong with either one. I should tell you, though, that some parts of Springfield are considered long-distance so be sure to check into what it costs to upgrade Century Tel for that local long distance or their unlimited long-distance package.

I look forward to seeing more of you around here!

MrsG

Default info

I just moved to Ozark 3 weeks ago from California so I can give you the info or any other info on Ozark if I know it. The phone service is Centurytel which also has a bundle package with high speed internet for 69.99 which includes unlimited calling, you can add Dish network tv for a total of 110.00 a month also. I chose the phone and internet but kept my directv I had in California. Things here are very slow, please remember this. My phone and internet are the only thing we had no trouble with and they were turned on when they said they would be. Everything here is electric so don't bother bringing a gas dryer you will need electric, I found this out when I arrived. Let me know if you need any other info. If you have kids the schools in Ozark are phenominal I am soo impressed and so are my kids and we came from a good school district in California.

Hi,
I am glad I check th board today. Been very busy. However I read this and I know you came from CA. I am getting my house ready to put up for sale to move from Fl. I want to move to MO. ozark area. I would like to know how are you adjusting and your family is adjusting. Are your children in elementary school or middle so on? You said the schools are great there. Why are they. Do they have smaller classes? Are the teachers concerned about the children? Do the teachers communicate with the parents?
The reason I am asking is because I will be moving from Fl. and Ca. is somewhat the same as Fl. I have been on this forum before and the people from Mo. seem to be helpful and nice. I would like to hear back from you since we both are from big states. The pros and what you think are the cons.
I am a single mom with a son who is 11 and in 6 grade he also has learning disablity Thanks
Icelady

you can also have your gas dryer converted to use LP Gas (propane). but this is something you cannot do yourself. you'll have to have a local license person do this for you. i heard its only about $40-$60 bucks. cheaper if you want to do more appliances.

Helloooo! I happened to talk to CenturyTel (for another reason) and they mentioned that they have a special going...$29.95 each for phone, high-speed internet and dish network so it would be under $90 before taxes & whatever fees there are. Just FYI, for what it's worth!
