We went to Branson Sunday and spent a couple hours at the Landing. I must have seen 20 different dogs (mostly small but a couple boxers and larger breeds) being walked up the center. All were well behaved and some were carried into stores. I found the visitors spitting on the sidewalk to be much more offensive.

I will say that my first couple of visits (after moving to SWMO from CA)to "Branson" I wasn't terribly impressed, as I didn't really know the best places to go or the best restaurants...hey...I didn't even know about the LAKE!!! So I can understand if you just drive in & look around on your own it might seem......boring or something.

Once I discovered Table Rock Lake I fell in love and decided to re-locate from Springfield. And glad I did.

I also didn't realize we're not considered pet-friendly. I'll have to look into that.

I didn't know we weren't considered pet-friendly either. My Saint Bernard has had her best life here in the Ozarks. Plenty of open space, fresh air, tall trees and sunshine to soak up. A girl at work is moving over to a Branson neighborhood on a golf course and her dog is welcome in her new rental. As far as stores, how many stores in America other than Petsmart allow pets inside anyway? I've always wished there were more.

The rec plex in Branson is hosting a garage sale to raise money for the dog park it's planning at stockstill park. They are also taking donations on May 11th from 8am to 8pm. The garage sale will be held on the 12th.

Here's a link to the proposed plan, I think you will find it extremely dog friendly: Phase2 » Branson Dog Park

Tell me what techniques did you use to get your kid to stop licking his butt or eat other neighbor kids' poop left on the ground?

Any luck with getting your kid to stop sniffing every new kid's butt at school?

I don't know why all the kids all want to do these things and I need some help with this and it sounds like you have it all figured out.

Kids these days are just not the same as they used to be are they?

I can't even get mine to talk to me.
I guess it's a matter of taste and what you are willing to handle.
I have read your other rather rude posts around this forum, John, and I am certainly not interested in debating with you. To each his own.

I have been in many churches where the kids are crying and rolling around on the floor. The parents give them chocolate to keep them busy and they get it in the rug and on the seats. I have been grossed out so many times that I had to leave. Many times, I'd grab a shopping cart at the store and it's be all sticky. And yet they allow these brats every where. I have a sign in my house that reads "All pets welcome, Children must be on a leash".
By the way my dog would not be more comfortable or "pampered" in a kennel. He would sit there for days or a week waiting for me to return.
twice we had to do it and it took us a long time to get him back to normal
He's our kid and there's no way we could live him behind.

Hi Susan,

I hope you had a good visit in Branson in spite of the rude remarks. I am moving to MO (with my dog which I sleep with in my bed) in the very near future. I hope we will be able to find some acceptance. I've lived in the west most of my life. I thought everyone loved their animals like I love mine.
