What's your favorite recipe?

All kidding aside. I think most of us understand that certain people put their pets on an equal footing with human beings. The majority don't. Those who do need to accept and understand that. A little sense of humor wouldn't hurt either. I don't believe anyone has been rude, per se. They're just not going to have animals shoved down their throats.

I thought most bed bugs come from peoples luggage into hotels than they breed like the dickens...hence an infestation. They don't kill them properly and they keep breeding. I never heard of Branson having a big problem with that. Maybe some hotels have had a problem.

Hi Susan,

So glad to hear you were welcomed. I have traveled all over the country with my puppy and find that people go out of their way to come up to me. I always have found my pet to be a great conversation starter! Personally, I am ignored when I am alone. Who likes to be ignored?

I live at the fall creek resort and it's a very pet friendly area. There are little green things all around with poop bag dispensers in the top and covered poop trash cans in the bottom. Without fail when i walk my chihuahaua outside I see huge piles left by owners of larger dogs. I tell myself they belong to people with bad backs and I make sure and pick up one two of them each time we go out as a way of thanking God for my good back. For these anti-pet people... I'm guessing you don't live alone. I'm guessing you have so much human interaction that you don't feel the need for the unconditional love of a pet. I'm not that tolerable and the only people that really know me and like me is my dog. You never know how important a person's pet is to them. Ling Ling is housebroken every bit as well as I am. She'd rather hold it than go anywhere other than outside or on a potty pad. And she loves me every day no matter what.

And how would you have people treat the K-9s that served our country? Just curious.

Just as well as they treat the troops. Worked with patrol dogs in the military and drug dogs in law enforcement. Have the utmost respect and admiration for them. Like them a whole bunch too.

Sorry to see this threat come back to life but your supposition may be slightly off-center. I've raised dogs and had many pets. Have two cats now. Having plenty of human interaction doesn't diminish my enjoyment of animals one bit.

I just have to say that this is the most humourous thread I've had the pleasure of reading. I admit to being one of those people who treats her dog as her child. The husband only allows it because he's aware that having kids is an impossibility for us, as is adoption. However, he never fails to "remind" me at least once a week that "She's a DOG." I can only repond with, "Yeah, but she's MY dog...and I love her." However, I don't try and force other people to treat her as more than a dog nor do I try to take her everywhere with me.

Having said that...if the hubby and I were to move to MO...would we (or rather I) be looked at weird if I happen to be walking my dog and she has a doggie shirt on? :P
