Default Springfield Recreation And Economy?

Doe's the Springfield area have many rivers around the city for canoing or boating.........family fun stuff? I noticed that there are a few lakes in the area for fishing and such. What would be a good area just outside the city to look for affordable housing? ( 80K to 120K ) In a decent area. What is the local economy like as far as job opportunities goes........no special trades, just looking for work in the area. Looking to relocate from Southwest VA.

Default Lakes and rivers galore...

There are lots of lakes, rivers, and streams around here. Lakes are Table Rock, Tanycomo, Beaver, Bull Shoals are close. There are other lakes around here but are a bit further south or north-ish.

White River, King River, etc..are all here along with many canoeable/raftable streams (many are seasonal though).

This is water sports heaven...boating, water skiing, rafting, sailing, fishing, etc. can be found all around.

Economy is light industrial, service, or tourism for the most part. Springfield is less tourism, Branson is highly tourism. Economy seems to be doing well but it's not a boom or bust economy like the coastal or technical areas. Seems to be just steady for the most part.
