We are 15 miles south of Springfield and last winter was termed "the worst winter in a generation" or something along those lines. We received all of about six-eight inches of snow for the entire season. Not a single day chased me into a pair of long pants and the wife only made me wear a jacket a coupla times.

Thanks Sassygirl and da jammer, for the information.

Some snow would be okay, along with some cooler temps, too! I still have tomatoes and cantelope blooming, it is very warm here for this time of year.

Springfield truly enjoys all four seasons. Was there during Christmas with hugh snowflakes falling faster than you could blink and I was wearing shorts.
Don't get me wrong, it tend to be very cold natured because of thin blood (not a cold heart ).

Down here in the depths of the south we have two seasons - HOT and COLD; not much in between. Factoring in the humidity value and it is miserable. Hot is hotter than hot (you could truly lose 20 lbs in 5 minutes); cold is bone chilling. I have been on Mt. Ranier with 10 feet of snow wearing shorts. It can be 35 degrees here and with our humidity, at times, it can feel like 20 below. Big yuck on the heat and cold. Give me Springfield any day, or night.

Default I44 Corridor

That is a strange phenomenon! It seems the weather approaches from the west, then either breaks up, or goes north of us. If us "Lake People" get any "weather" to speak of, it usually gets us from the south. Springfield got the ice storm last year, but 3 years ago, we got hit Hard! But, then, it snowed in Galveston, TX that year!!!

No one here in East Texas wraps their outside faucets, never stay at freezing long enough! Some of my best memories are of the years I lived in MO! Only one bad memory from MO, a tornado destroyed our house, so I am a cloud watcher. When I find a house in MO to purchase, it will have a basement!

Some of my best memories, is of Roger Maris (in 1961) living next door when I lived in Raytown and my father helped to build the Truman Library in Independence.

I want to see some snow and have 4 seasons for a change!

I am looking at houses online. I will make plans to drive up and look at houses, very soon.

I have one son that lives in Biloxi area, he likes it in MS.

It is strange, that here on the Lake O the Pines, the really bad weather goes all around this part of the lake. My neighbor who has lived here over 25 years, says that ice on the roads around here happened about 15 years ago.

It will be good to have cooler weather and be closer to trout fishing.
Thanks for the information!

Smile Hmmm.. Lake of the Pines!

WOW!!! My Dad lives in Marshall, and I used to live in Harleton! BIG CITY, huh!! Wow! I loved Lake of the Pines! My ex caught I 38 lb catfish there, and that's where my kids learned to swim! But, you will love Table Rock, too! It is sooo pretty....Can't wait till ya get here, ya'll!!! (OK, they say You'ns up here....) The fishin is great!!

Ck out the bosses website for some really pretty aerial photos of Table Rock Lake....From the Kimberling City side (Pinnacle Shores) and the Shell Knob side(Lake Ridge)....

Table Rock Lake Land Developer - Pinnacle Shores and Lake Ridge Subdivision

It's hard to decide which side of TRL to live on!! It's all so awesome! I picked Kimberling City, due to it's proximity to Branson......Cape Fair is out a little farther, with some crazy winding roads, but exceptionally beautiful!!

WOW is right! Harleton is a neat little town, my A/C repair person is at the hardware store in Harleton! Gee, can't believe your dad lives in Marshall! Small world! I have some friends from MO, who use to have a farm near Poplar Bluff, and the still can not get use to saying Ya'll, LOL.

Your bosses website has some beautiful, brings back memories, pictures. Thanks, they were great! The log lodge is great, too!

I always loved the trips to the Ozarks, love to fish! I am waiting on the estate to be settled from my husbands passing a year ago! I am looking forward to my new adventure!

LOP water was so low two years ago, that a pontoon boat got lodged on the boat ramp. The lake is going down again due to lack of rain!

Thanks for the info!

Default Not many pines here....

Yep, I lived in that area for several years. I really liked living out by Karnack and Caddo Lake. Kinda creepy, but in a sort of way that is almost prehistoric! When we got "up" here, I was amazed how much this area looks like central Texas, except the trees are bigger! (We lived in Horseshoe Bay, near Marble Falls, for 8 years) And the rocks are a different color! You can find the occasional pine tree here in SW MO, along with some Prickly pear and Spanish Daggers....makes you feel right at home!! I really enjoy the season changes! It seems like in TX, the leaves just turned brown and fell off! We are really starting to get some beautiful color here by Table Rock Lake! I'll try and get some pictures happening....
Hope all goes well for you in your upcoming move. I offer any assistance that I can!!

I like going to Uncertain, Tx. to the flea market and driving around Caddo lake is a great days adventure! The Spanish moss makes it seem like a good place for a ghost story to be told. MO is alot like North and East Texas, minus the cactus and scorpians.....

Thanks for the info and the offer to assist, will let you know if I need assistance! Oh, that would be great to see the fall foliage. It has been since 1961, since I lived in MO.

How do you add a note to a rep +? I still have alot to learn about this site.
