My home town. It's great place...you'll love it. Congrats.

Website is: Saddlebrooke Missouri - Home

They haven't updated it in a while. There are a few resale and/or spec. homes for sale currently, but not many. Several custom builts under construction.

They are working with Modot to fix the exit thing. It's actually pretty easy unless your driving a big RV or truck. If so, then you go in the back way. Also keeps out some of the Sunday drive traffic.

We love living here...it's beautiful and quiet. A little more pricey than some of the other areas we looked at, but worth the price in our minds.

WOW...busy couple of weeks! Jumped the birthday hurdle in the middle of it all...ok. Here's the list I promised you...these are builders that have been recommended to me.

Chuck Caldwell Construction
417-739-1426
(Mid & upper bracket builder, has experience building log homes.)

Ron Essary
417-272-8543
(Builds high-end custom homes.)

Krause Construction, Jay Krause
417-739-5480
(Mid & upper bracket custom & spec condos & residences.)

Schaeffer Construction; Tom Schaeffer
417-739-4201
(High end custom only.)

Underwood Construction; Scott Underwood
417-272-1783
417-527-2628
(May be the most reasonable. Building Senior Housing Project, has done spec & custom.)

Welko Construction; Steve Welko
417-739-4203
(Quality custom and quite a lot of commercial.)

Thom Holman Construction
417-337-3907
(Quality upper-end residential. One of my personal favorites.)

Wendall Parton
417-779-4483
(Any size home, specializes in large custom homes.)

There you are...sorry for the delay.
This is by no means comprehensive...there are many good builders. Some of these I know and some I've just been told are good.

Good Luck...you'll love Saddlebrooke!

I would also recommend Strohm Construction. Kirk Strohm has built several homes in Saddlebrooke and has just opened a office/product display area below the Saddlebrooke convenience store right off hiway 65.

He built our home and we are happy with the quality, the process, and the follow thru.
He is, however, pretty laid back. We've done a lot of additional work on a handshake...& are still very happy.

Another builder in Saddlebrooke is North Brothers. We have seen some of their work and it looks good. They are known for their woodworking in particular. Lots of beautiful custom wood finishes. Construction seems solid.

Saddlebrooke - Home Builders ... thank you so much for the list of builders. This list will be helpful as we get closer to selecting a house builder. Also, we are going to fly in for the annual Home Builder's Association (HBA) Parade of Homes in June 20, 21, 22 and the weekend of June 27,28, 29 of the summer of 2008.

Hello,
Recently got interested in researching all of the details associated with making a move from So. Calif. My wife and I purchased a lot in Saddlebrooke for a future retirement spot. I really appreciate your comments / information on the area, partic.
S.B.

Re: the list of contractors, do any of them have websites? Since I know very little about building a home, partic. being out of state when we do this, I like surveying initially via pics and general information.

Thanks in advance for your response.
Mark

Red face Probably not...

I don't think you'll find any of the local builders having web sites...at least down here in the Branson/Table Rock Lake area.

This is a series of small towns that just happen to be near some pretty cool entertainment/resort/vacation destinations...so we don't have much in the way of "production" builders that throw up 100 houses each year. Most of our builders build 5-10 homes each year!

Small town living...at it's finest.

Default Welcome to Saddlebrooke..almost

Welcome...both to the forum and to Saddlebrooke. In what neighborhood is your lot located? Zoltani and BarbHarp also bought a lot out here and they were out visiting this past week. They joined us for our OTFCC meet and I can say that they are going to be GREAT ex-cali neighbors when they finally move here. They even have friends who ended up buying a lot...the more the merrier. They did alot of interviewing and investigating on builders so you may want to PM them to see what they learned.

You go under 65, loop around and come out at a convenience store, where you can turn south. It's kind of a round-about way of doing it, but better than nothing, I guess.

Personally, I am not a big fan of covenants and restrictions, which I am sure that Saddlebrook has in spades. I've lived in subdivisions where the POA/HOA is breathing down your neck and it's not a nice feeling. If the OP doesn't care, well, to each his own, but it certainly isn't any place I would care to live.
