I want to tell anyone that we don't mind driving a bit to take our baby to a good vet that has good bedside ability with animals. We don't want someone who is just there for the money and acts like an unfeeling oaf of some kind. Got any recommendations please?

I've been very happy using Bradford Park on south National.

In my experience, they've always been very easy to work with. As an example, I hate trimming my dogs' nails and they let me bring the dogs in any time (without an appointment) and trim them for free. It's not a big deal, but the little things make the difference to me.

Default Two recommendations

I can tell you about two Vets..both of which have our greatest admiration and thanks. They both tried to help our dog survive a severe case of hepititis and showed caring and compassion the whole time.

The first is Dr. Enderson at Bradford Park (off James River near Cox Health Center). He is where are regular vet sent us for some speciality work. Very kind, very caring with the animals. On his hands and knees to be at her level. Talked to me like a someone with a brain who was losing a battle. I was HIGHLY impressed with his skills..both with the dog and with me.

The second is Dr. Purcell in Branson. He was recommended by a local dog shelter. Bradford Park indicated that he was one of the better vets in the area and highly skilled at diagnostics. We really liked him although he is a little harder to get to know. Good with the dog during "manicures/pedicures", and talked to her like a human.

After we lost our beloved Abbie, both vets called to express sympathy and explain what had been happening..and tried to assure me I shouldn't feel any guilt (which of course, I did feel.)

I hope your vet visits are under better circumstances, but we really liked and responded to both of these doctors.
