Thumbs down Not a good place!

Do not move or buy in the Merriam Woods Village!Located in Missouri. 65740. It is dirty, the roads are bad and the homes that are being built are very cheap made.
Although, some homes are built great. Most are not.
The Village should be turned over to Taney County. All assets should be sold and go to make the roads they should be. With out pot holes that can brake parts on your car or truck.
They have roads blocked to peoples property along Camp Ground Road. These Folks that own this property need to file a complaint.
If you have any questions fell free to ask. Russ

My wife loves Branson. We've been there too many times since we got married, about 4 times. Last time we went, we took my parents and they loved it! It was a great trip. I love Springfield's Bass Pro and the Ducks. I could just do that the whole time.

But there are getting to be a few too many of us out there (tourists). What do they have like 6,000 residents there and like 345,000 tourists there?

Branson city limits is about 6,000 residents. Most of the population that serves the tourism lives outside the city limits...Taney County has about 40,000. Last year tourism was over 6,000,000. 2007 is expected to break the 7,000,000 mark. (Hard to imagine unless you visit the strip...they've done a great job of creating loop roads to get around the worst of the traffic jams.)

I love it too.

The amazing thing is that the surrounding areas have stayed rather rural with little population growth. Ozark County still has only around 10,000 residents.

Unfortunately some developers got a bunch of land over there and decided it would be a great place to build really really cheap houses. When I heard they had brand new houses for $80K...well come on.
And yes, some of the roads are frightening.
Perhaps some of the residents should get together and approach Taney County...good idea!
Hopefully you didn't get stuck there?
