Can anyone give me the good, bad and the ugly of Buffalo. There are several homes that I am interested in that are in Buffalo. Any information on schools, people, community would be greatly appreciated

Florida-transplant is on a distinguished road
I'm in my early fifties and was born and raised in Buffalo.Buffalo is a "live and let live" city. The school system (public) is a pretty good one.But if you can afford to send your children to private schools, they would be better off in the long and short run.People? The people in Buffalo are generally friendly and always willing to help. But they also can be the most confrontational people you'll run across if lied to or rubbed the wrong way.Jobs? It's not what you know, it's WHO you know.Communities? Here's where you have to be careful to make sure you don't move into the wrong neighborhood!Buffalo's East side is where you don't want to live or even pass through. The South side is not for non white individuals. The West side is mostly low income families although upscale and expensive homes can be found.North side, (where I was born and lived),is the ideal place to live and raise a family.Crime is almost non-existant.People are friendly but tend to keep to themselves. There are no undesirable neighborhoods in Buffalo's North side.Great schools, great restaurants, and beautiful tree lined streets. Any of Buffalo's suburbs (Kenmore, and the Tonawandas) are even better than the North.Best of luck!!

I don't think florida-transplant could possibly be talking about Buffalo, Missouri. There are no private schools, there are no expensive homes, there are no non-white individuals and there are no jobs or any suburbs. I hunt outside of Buffalo and spend a few weeks a year there......and that is more than enough for me.

Cool This is Missouri!

Me thinks Florida Transplant was raised in Buffalo, NY. What's the difference? Buffalo, NY population: 300,000, Buffalo, MO population: 3,000.

Buffalo, MO is a nice small town with good schools.
