I'm in my early fifties and was born and raised in Buffalo.Buffalo is a "live and let live" city. The school system (public) is a pretty good one.But if you can afford to send your children to private schools, they would be better off in the long and short run.People? The people in Buffalo are generally friendly and always willing to help. But they also can be the most confrontational people you'll run across if lied to or rubbed the wrong way.Jobs? It's not what you know, it's WHO you know.Communities? Here's where you have to be careful to make sure you don't move into the wrong neighborhood!Buffalo's East side is where you don't want to live or even pass through. The South side is not for non white individuals. The West side is mostly low income families although upscale and expensive homes can be found.North side, (where I was born and lived),is the ideal place to live and raise a family.Crime is almost non-existant.People are friendly but tend to keep to themselves. There are no undesirable neighborhoods in Buffalo's North side.Great schools, great restaurants, and beautiful tree lined streets. Any of Buffalo's suburbs (Kenmore, and the Tonawandas) are even better than the North.Best of luck!!
