We're fine!
I live in Southwest Springfield, and we had lots of wind, rain, and hail last night. Some Bradford Pear trees down in our neighborhood (but that doesn't take much), as well as debris on the road. My uncle lives in Rivercut, and he said the wind blew the screen completed out of his back porch, and threw his lawn furniture around. There was alot of damage in Strafford, Monett, and Marshfield, and a couple of deaths reported. Although I was in the Willard Jr. High basement around 6pm waiting out the storm last night, I scurried home before the second wave hit our side of Springfield. We spent most of the night in our closet under the stairs, so it was a long night with little sleep. I definitely had to hit Starbucks this morning before work!

Ozark Last night
We blew up the airbed down in the storage room, my girls and I slept (really not much sleep happened) with 2 of the cats while hubby slept in the next room on couch and 3rd fraidy cat roamed the house. He was freaking out with us so we said a big prayer and hoped for the best. the new male cat got restless and had to spray him twith the spray bottle a few times but my siamese/himy was totally cool about everything.
I made it as cozy as possible, had plenty of blankets and pillows, led light, flashlight, nightlight, water and had a packed emergency bag down there from before. I made sure to have all my medications, address book, laptop, etc too. We kept buckets with lids and t-paper just in case we got stuck down ther along with an ax if we had to hack our way out. I kept the radio that I got from the RED CROSS on all night and tuned to a channel for news.
The only thing that really got to us was the air bed was like sleeping on a cold waterbed, burrr.
I heard the sirens in my sleep and was glad I could hear it. We had a couple enourmaously powered thunder blasts right above us a couple times that was the loudest kind you can imagine.
I had a false sence of security down there, even though in reality, if it's our time to meet our maker during a tornado, it'll happen. I had my faith and my girls had faith and me by their sides
I kept calling the school closure number this morning to make sure the kids were going to school and checked the weather.
There was tornadic action to the west, south and east of us but missed our area.
I heard we had 60 mph winds while Springfield had 80-100 mph
The Ozark and Nixa SIRENS were often going off through out the pm/am.
Wow, just awesome how there wasn't MORE LOSS from all the twisters.
We were concerned with this next springs storms to come, we sure got a taste of that laste night.
We know we are supposed to be here and don't regreat moving here one bit!!! I hope nobody is changing their mind about moving here.
Blessings
