How 'bout: if your alarm clock is a rooster in your crawl space... or maybe if your little boy has poison ivy on his "ding-ding" and between his toes...or maybe if you spend more on maintaining your chainsaws and riding mower than your automobiles...or when you give directions similar to: "after the blacktop turns into gravel, it's just a hop-skip-and-a-jump, with all the chickens in the yard"...or, how 'bout when you use the phrase "kinda like the Clampets...before they moved to Beverly Hills" to describe your lifestyle...or, one of the kids hands you an egg from the backseat of the car and you realize that last time you got home from town you forgot to roll up the windows ...or when your son owns as many guns as his classmates own video games...or when your kids count "goin' swimmin' " the same as bathing...

Hey! Thanks for the welcome! I've been snooping for months. Let's just say we're misfits in Central Missouri.

I understand! I'm pretty much a misfit in the north San Francisco Bay Area outside of immediate family and church friends. Well you've found the right place here! Come on in, the water's fine, as they say. They tell me the sweet tea is even better. That remark about "your son owns as many guns as his classmates own video games is a riot! People around here would take one look at that and go YIIKKEEES!...and just assume he's going to be another Columbine shoot-'em up deranged kid, rather than someone who just likes to go out squirull huntin' on a crisp chilly Saturday mornin' with his dear old Dad.

How about if your chainsaw & riding mower is worth more than your automobile......or if your boat trailer & fish finder are worth a LOT more than your automobile.........

Glory beee...........!!!.....what the heck are we still doing here......? And to think we could have been at home all these years in SWMO!!!

You know what else? One time I went in to parent/ teacher conferences and when I came out there was a hen standing on the dash. That's when we realized we needed to keep the windows up on the cars. Lost a cat that way one time too. He rode to work with my husband, darted out at the conv. store -never saw it again.

Seriously though, we are looking at relocating to the Springfield area and I need to ask some questions for the sake of my kids. My husband and I checked-out a long time ago- but we can't seem to leave.

I'm pretty confident that the whole gang here will quickly bury you in an avalanche of favorable testimonials regarding the Springfield area! You ask questions, Lake Junkie, da jammer, Boof, Mrs. Genealogy and a bunch of others have answers.
