Default Truman Lake Question

My husband is going to retire soon and we are considering relocating to the Truman Lake area, maybe Warsaw. My husband loves to fish. We like the fact that is not developed and overrun with tourists. I hope there are no huge tourist attractions going in around the Lake. Does anyone know of anything like that happening in the near future? I live near a river now and the Cassinos came in and took over about 4 years ago. I sure wouldn't want to happen again if we relocate. Hopefully the corp wouldn't allow that to happen. Is the fishing still good there?

I can't make any promises it will stay that way, but my understanding is that Missouri law currently allows casinos only on the Missouri and Mississippi river. They tried to change this a few years ago and it got voted down. Maybe others know a little more about this than me?

The lake is really lovely, though I'm partial to Table Rock lake myself (it's considerably farther south) near Branson. (but there are def. more tourists down there)

Are you retired or will you be looking for employment? If you need job, you might have issues, but it's a good place to retire to.

Warsaw has the same problems that blight many a small rural town, and according to Wikipedia 18.5% of the 2000 residents live below the poverty line, but all in all if you;re looking for quiet it's a good place to find it.

I have a small business. I may give that up in a couple of years and retire myself. It's more of hobby for me. A friend told me that 5 rivers meet somewhere near Warsaw. Do you know about that?

I've never heard that, though I'd be inclined to believe it. There's a lot of water in the area, you might feel almost as though you're on an island!
