Kai - DO IT!!! Easily my favorite Japanese restaurant in town with a very broad range of items on the menu. You don't have to be a sushi fan to enjoy Kai, but there's a great sushi menu if you're so inclined (I am )

NOTHING like it used to be nor is it up to par with the one in Nixa. It was also being run by what looked to be a whole new crew of perhaps immigrants...did they change owners or managers? Or did I just pick a couple of bad days?

I had Buckinghams in Nixa last night and was VERY disappointed. Normally Buckinghams does a great job, but last night was simply terrible. I got an order to go and when I got home and started eating my dinner, it tasted like warmed up left overs from lunch.
I'm willing to give them a pass since my other experiences have been so positive, but I'll be paying close attention. I really hope Buckinghams isn't on the down hill slide in general...

I have heard that the one in Springfield is an offshoot, owned by the son of the founder of Babe's in Joplin. That could be just a rumor, however.

Thanks for your info on Whistlers. A local publication had a small story on Whistlers recently and it stated that the same folks who own the Whistlers in Carthage own the one in downtown Springfield too. I have not tried it yet....but I will. So I do not know if they have indoor seating - may just be carry out. But there is not a parking lot for it bc its located downtown, so thats kind of inconvenient.

We have not been to Billy Bob's Dairy Land since it moved to its new location on Hwy 76 in Branson. But we loved it when it was in its old location! Great Burgers!

BBQ @ Campbell/Sunshine - Springfield.
In Springfield, at S. Campbell/West Sunshine - there are 2 BBQ restaurants now:
Buckingham's
Rib Crib
A new BBQ restaurant is coming soon on West Sunshine:
Hog Wild BBQ
Maybe that intersection needs to be called BBQ Blvd *LOL*.

it's a bit of a drive, but if you ever go visit Beaver Lake, Arkansas. The Mont Ne Inn has just about the best fried chicken ever.

As in Richard's Hog Wild BBQ based in Aurora? I've heard great reviews of that place, but never seem to make it out to Aurora to find out for myself. I'd love to see a new location in Springfield.
