there's a china king (or star..i get them confused..sorry!) opposite the price cutter on national by the ups store and hinode that my co-workers and i just love. we have lunch there about once a week..service is always fast and efficient (we order for individually for about 15 people and they always get our order right..) and really cheap. the lunch special is your main dish and a choice of an eggroll/crab rangoon/hot n sour soup/egg drop soup for $4.95. the portions are huge and there are always left-overs for supper!
we also recently just tried the macaroni grill and we cannot get enough of it. we especially like the create your own pasta and the tiramisu is to die for. hubby likes the cheesecake. servers are always nice and hardly a wait though it is always busy.
i'm asian and very habitual so i like going to all my favorite asian places..i'm pretty sure i've posted these before but here goes. (lol, and the crazy thing is that we've probably been to all of them in the last month!!)
soo's korean restaurant on campbell. very authentic..each meal comes with about 7 little cold side dishes that is included in the price. the sides might vary from day to day but generally they are kim chi, pickled radish in kim chi, broccoli and sesame seed/oil, korean pancake(egg, flour, chives), bean sprouts (blanched with sesame seeds/oil), potatoes in soy sauce..there's more but my brain is failing me at the moment.
our favorites there are the bi bim bap (cold rice dish), beef spare ribs soup, and the beef bulgolgi.
thai peppers on sunshine. so many good things on the menu but favorites are drunken noodles, pad thai, fisherman madness, curry (they have a bunch of them but my favorites are green, panang, and masaman), tamarind fish, steamed ginger fish and the tom yam goong is really good too.
bambu on battlefield...the spring rolls, the pho, the spicy noodle soup, and the clear egg noodle soup is good. have never really tried any of the rice dishes..did i mention i was habitual?
try the coconut juice there too..it's pretty fresh and they give you quite a few slices of the coconut meat.
this isn't really a restaurant but the battlefield mall food court has really good bourbon chicken and has a lunch special too.
gem of india..we like the briyani and lamb curry.
izume hataki and sakura..good and fresh sushi.
mcallisters...sweet tea, chicken club, broccoli cheddar soup and bacon spud. they have a kid's night on tuesdays that our daughter loves..they have the scupltured balloons and kids meals are free. the chocolate cake and ice cream is good.
lol..that's about all i can think of.
btw...we go to harter house for our butchered meats but does anyone know if there is a fresh seafood place to go other than the once frozen thawed out really fishy stuff at the grocery stores? if not..where's the best place to get fresh seafood?
