Help.....bbq Catering
I am having a family reunion in the area this summer. I have been searching and calling to find a cater that will do a kind of backyard BBQ. We are looking for them to bring the Grill out and do it on the spot. I have called around and have had no luck, numbers are either disconnected or the cater does not offer this. I am not from the area so i am not familiar with much back there. I am from California and know of many places that specialize in BBQ events like this. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU HELP!!!

I don't know much about Springfield, but here in Carthage we have a local butcher who will cook a whole hog for you. You just tell them when and how many people, they select, butcher and cook it for you. They also do other barbecue catering, but they don't cook it at your house. You might try some local Springfield butchers.

Richard's Hawgwild BBQ in Aurora has a good reputation for food, but I don't know if they will come out and cook on site.
Here's the link, if that helps: Richard's Hawgwild BBQ | Catering

I have a friend here in Columbia that does this sort of thing, but it is considered more along the lines of a "personal chef" that caters. Try that route. There is a difference. Hope that helps.

I spoke with James Watson from 3 Creeks Catering here in Columbia and he does travel. If you would like his contact info- let me know. He was featured in the Columbia Daily Tribune not too long ago as well.

If the above suggestions don't work out for you, ask a few catering companies...they will either have the ability or may know someone who does. Unfortunately, backyard BBQ is more of a grilling method of cooking whereas "BBQ" joints around here (and most places in the south) use smokers and it takes hours and hours of cooking so doing it on-site isn't feasible. I'm sure you can find what your looking for out here. Ya often just have to look a little harder.
