Question Moving to the Springfield area......

I am moving to the springfield area in aug and I was wondering about the small towns on the south side. I am interested in a christian school if possible with a preschool or daycare center attached or near. Also I am wondering about ballet and gymnastics programs in the area. I would prefer to live in one of the suburbs, Republic, Nixa, or Ozark. How are the schools in this area? Also is there many rental homes or would buying be a better option. Any tips or info about the area would be appreciated.

New Covenant Academy sounds right up your alley. It's on the Southwest side of town.

I heard Nixa has an excellent school system (award winning). I'm also looking into that area. I think Nixa Schools are posted online...think that is where I saw the rankings and awards.

I live in Lebanon, Missouri. I know of a church with pre-school here, and the choice of churches are endless. I am in the process of finding a church my girls and I feel comfortable at. We have quite a few dance studios. What age group are you looking for? There's also a lot of sports. And my 6yr & 5yr old love school here. I am actually a realtor here. I had to move here from California about 3 yrs ago, it was culture shock for me, but easy enough to get used to. Moderator cut: TOS Violation

I think St. Agnus (catholic) has a preschool adjacent, its downtown and is also close to springfield ballet on walmut street and the downtown YMCA (I am pretty sure southside catholic schools have huge waitlists so you would have to send your kids to a downtown/midtown school like St. Joe or St. Agnus)

Also Battlefield is the best southside town, it is connected to springfield with a four lane highway and there is never any traffic on it. Battlefield would also be convienent for new covenant acadamy on kansas expressway.

you will regret moving to nixa if you have to drive US160/Cambell during rush hour.

I also wouldn't recommend looking between springfield and ozark or rogersville along US60 or US65 for the next few years since you would have a big headache of deaing with years of construction after the 60/65 reconstruction begins next year. US 60/65 Interchange -construction website
