I don't think I mentioned wanting it to change anything, just stating what I saw as the facts (not to start another "fact" discussion). Change, along with death and taxes, is something we can pretty much count on in life. As we pollute our rivers, streams, air, etc..then going green becomes good. As our lifes became busier having the option to shop on Sunday was seen as a good thing by many people. Love this area and have no desire to turn it into Las Vegas where I moved from or to the SF Bay Area where I spent most of my life. And politics is often influenced by money, need, culture, etc. Here, and many other areas, religion seems to play a more overt role in politics. Neither good nor bad....just the way I see it playing out.

Sound like the place for us. My family is relocating there in the middle-ish ( I know, that's not a word ) of the month of April and we can't wait. Currently we live in Tombstone, AZ. Ny husband is a talented country singer/songwriter and I manage a restaurant.....We want the best of both worlds....Quiet, laid back and GREEN but also a place that we can both excel at our careers. We have founf many affordable rentals in the area. Actually, if someoone could tell me how far springfield and Branson are, that'd be great.

Springfield and Branson, as the crow flies, are about 35 miles apart. But how long it takes to get from one place to another depends on what part of the cities your looking to get to. The statistics are border to border...We moved here a year ago and I checked out that "35 mile" thing. It can be a long drive if your winding on country roads or going to the more northern parts of Springfield. Hiway 65 is the main (4 lane) highway and it's straight with a few modest hills. Hiway 13 is the western route and it's pretty flat but much of it is a two lane hiway. Depends on what type of commute you want. If your planning on working in Branson, you may want to look further south or at least south Springfield. Nixa, Ozark, Highlandville are areas nearer Branson but still close to Springfield. Hollister, West Branson, Kimberling City, Forsyth, Ridgedale, (and more) are all nearer Branson.
