Looking a homes near Bull Shoals lake, do they allow lakefront property and can you have a dock.

You can have a house next to the corps land which will giver you walking to the lake. You can buy a dock slip or rent from a marina, but it is next to impossible to get a new dock permit anymore.

Yes they allow lakefront property...they define lakefront as any private land that joins the Corp property. These lakes in SW MO are reservoirs...as such there is a high water line and they own up to that line. (Yes, that's a little simplified, ok.)

Here is a link to see where the dock zoning is...and if you look at Google maps or some aerial mapping program you can see the various housing areas around the lake. You'll find lots of good info about the rules and regs here:

Bull Shoals is sparcely populated compared to the nearby Table Rock Lake. Each lake has it's own unique personality and it's fun figuring out which one may be right for you!
