Hi everyone,
I have been a member of City-Data for awhile but can not remember if I have ever posted on this particular board. We will be moving to Branson just after the 1st of the year and boy are we excited about that! We love SW MO.
Once we move I would love to attend your coffee club! I am in the market for a bunch of new local friends and I can't think of a better way to find new friends! Shucks I may even be able to convince DH to come along! He is a lot more daring than he was in our younger years and I think he is looking forward to making some new friends as well.

Welcome! I love living here...
Will you be retiring or...?
It's a fun place to live either way.

Hi Lake Junkie,
Yes we will be retiring. At least that is the plan. Hopefully we will find plenty of things to fill our time. I am looking forward to moving to Branson and making lots of new friends!

I'm back...
Bad news... I have been out of pocket, as I had to go to Texas to my Step-Mom's funeral. ** Got to see a lot of family, so that was kinda nice.
Now for the worse news...
Well, it seems that the manager of the RFD Theatre, has not been paying his rent, nor has he been paying the ticket split to Take It To The Limits' investors. (15-20K in arrears! ) So, unfortunately, the show has pulled out of RFD and is looking for another venue. They have the lawyers on it, and all will be worked out, in our favor, I believe, very soon. The boys have a bunch of road dates starting the end of August, so all will be ok, and they WILL be "somewhere" next spring. Their show was just too sucessful to let it die. This may actually be a blessing in disguise, as they could end up with their OWN theatre in the future! We can only hope!! This has not been a good year for us!
On the other hand, dh's "Other" variety band, SCOTFREE, will be playing at Tequila's this Friday and Saturday night from 9 - 1 !! No cover charge! Great Mexican food! (Kitchen closes at 9, I think, tho..) It would make me VERY happy to see you there!! So, if you are out and about, drop in and see us! All the players are professional, Branson musicians, and really talented. And they can play anything! (Just ask them!! LOL!!)
I will keep you informed, as to Take It To The Limit, as things seem to change quickly when they do happen, but, They will be back!!!

Darlynn...so sorry to hear about your step-mama...I am one, and I know the love of a step-mom can be just as good as a "real" mom...
So un-cool about the manager of RFD... ...but as you say perhaps it will turn out best for the boys in the long run.
Will try to catch up with you at Tequila's...my new favorite Mexican restaurant!

Sorry to hear about your Step-Mom my friend. My thoughts are with you.
As for RFD...boy Scottie boy's just having a run of luck this year isn't he with managers not paying their bills and such. What time does he usally tune up at Tequila's? I'm still looking for that "no smoking" bar with music myself...I always feel like I've smoked a pack when I leave someplace around here...knew what I was getting into though so I'm not complaining...just looking..
Take care. And I'm up for a some other show...haven't seen many of them yet..

AUGUST 13 (Wed) OTFCC
For our August OTFCC how about:
Don't forget to mark you calendars. Our August coffee clatch is on a Wed. next month so our new friend(s) can attend. We are meeting at the
Starbucks in Target where we had a our very first meet just about a year ago.
We'll meet at our "normal" time: 10:00 on August 13th.
It's located just off hiway 65 about 1-2 mile north of downtown Branson ,
off Bee Creek Rd/Branson Pkwy. Target is in the same area as Home Depot.
And for those of you wading thru pages of postings to find information...
you can change your "mode" to hybrid and you can scroll thru the postings until you see the posting heading for the month your interested in (see title of this post). I try to post a monthly schedule and at least one reminder before the meetings. So..just look for me (mrschilicook) and the title for that months OTFCC..

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I am very anxious to join in on the coffee or lunch or heck..just hanging out! We are moving in January so it may be February before I get my head together and join in but I will be there! Thanks also for the warning about snuggies. We are moving to Branson from just west of Denver so we have plenty of snuggies to bring along.
