So glad to hear she's doing well, L J! Give her a hug for us when you see her next.
Btw, do you think she will be able to come to the OTFCC this month?

Mammograms and Biopsies

Statistically mammograms have proven to be misinterpreted a large percentage of the time and results from biopsies are not much better. It is postulated that the reason for a fairly good survival rate among breast cancer survivors is that they really did not have the disease to begin with but were totally misdiagnosed. It is certainly something to think about. I would also strongly review the credentials of any doctor with regard to his diagnostic capabilities with regard to mammograms. Not all doctors are good and competent and one small mistake can affect your life indefinitely.
Just my opinion. I hope that everything turns out ok for you.

I would be interested in reading the articles. Could you share where you read them?

OTFCC 9/17 OZARK Please confirm
Reminder: The next Over The Fence Coffee Club is scheduled for next Wed. the 17th. 10:00 at the Riverwalk Jazz Cafe off the square in Ozark.
If your planning on coming, please respond accordingly so we don't leave anyone sitting there alone.
And I want to thank all of you for your well wishes, prayers, and positive thoughts. I'm home, getting around with the help of my mom, lakejunkie, and others in this community. I have a wonderful doctor (voted one of the top surgeons in MO) and working with a great oncologist in Springfield. The biggest hurdle so far is not being able to drive and not being able to plan the specific dates for action in the future (in my work life I was a project/program planner)..which makes the doctors chuckle a bit and tell me to relax and let the process unfold.
And take care of your bodies. Get your mammograms and prostrate exams on a timely basis. The new digital mammograms are MUCH better at pinpointing with great accuracy any abnormalities for further analysis. Do you homework and be diligent but don't be a procrastinator.

I'll be there, MrsC! I was scheduled to be at work at 12:10 but I moved it back to 12:40. That way, I can be there for a couple of hours. I'm looking forward to it!

Be there...or be square, as they say!
Hello, all!
Just a quick note as I get ready for our OTFCC gathering this morning.
Here's your reminder that our fine group will be meeting this morning at the
Riverside Jazzy Cafe just off the square in Ozark. I'm pretty sure it starts at 10am. It's a cool place, the coffee and cinnamon rolls are delicious, and the company is awesome!
If you're in the area and can make it, we'd love to see you there!

Well, I know you are at the meeting but just wanted to say hi and wishing the best for all of you. And prayers for others. Hope your meeting was fun. Maybe next time I can break away from here and make the drive 'down' there.

September 2008 OTFCC in Ozark
Thanks, Voyager! We were few but we had a great time!
As it turned out, I was only joined by MrsChiliCookoff and her precious mother, Loretta, but we took the opportunity to get to know each other better and MrsC and I even allowed her mother to get in a word or two once in awhile!
We also decided to change our location and went to another tea room in Ozark called Wild Horse Cottage and Tea Room. The place is completely unpretentious, our lunches were delicious and MrsC said their Key Lime Pie was divine! Here's a link to their website, for those who might want to learn more: Wild Horse Cottage and Tea Room
Here's our picture...left to right, MrsC, MrsG and MrsC's mother, Loretta:
Doesn't MrsC look pretty? And her precious mother won me over quickly! She's here visiting from CA and I bet MrsC will be sad to see her go, That reminds me to tell you that her mother will be here for the rest of the month and MrsC is going through some treatments for breast cancer, too, so we might not see as much of her as we'd like. She is doing great, though, so don't worry, okay?
Well, that's my report...and I'm stickin' to it! I'll wait for MrsC to offer guidance or direction for next month's meeting but I want to remind you all that we'd love to meet you and ask you to to let us know if you're planning on attending one of our gatherings so we can be sure to make changes, if needed, to accommodate you or to just keep an eye out for you!

Sorry I missed it!
I'm so glad Mrs. C could make it...even the small coffee club meetings are nice in their own way!
Really sorry I missed it...lots of activity on the "home" front lately...
Looking forward to the next one, tho.

You and Mrs. C. sure know how to give me an even more steely resolve to come to an OTFCC meeting in the future! All three of you look great in this pic; and as Mrs. NBE would frequently reply to me, "You're not just saying that to make me feel good?" no I'm not! Not at all! By God's grace, if we don't get our house sold by May 2009, we're going to try to spend 10 days to 2 weeks vacationing in Missouri, and make time to head down your way.
My wife is a HUGE tea room aficionado and I know we would both love this place. We're just here making the best of things, and we finally got a little bit of light rainfall yesterday afternoon after not having any rain whatsoever since about the middle of last March. The air smelled so good outside! But we'll be so glad to get back to MO at least to visit if not to live just yet. Nothing but foreclosures and short sales as far as the real estate market goes, and our manufactured house is getting skipped.

Mrs. G. thanks for the picture!!! Smiles all around, that's good to see. VA sent a list of appts. for hubby for October. Looks as if they are going to keep me up here for the month! However, I'm trying to talk him into going to Branson sometime shortly after the 1st of November when the Christmas programs will be ready. Maybe, who knows???!!!!
