I wish I had known about this....
Just now moving back to Kansas City after 1-1/2 years in Springfield. Sure wish I'd found this website last year. It was a lonely winter. Bless all of you for your idea and follow through.
BTW, Pulling Leather is a horseback riding term. Don't read anything into it and weird emails are not invited.

I had suggested Branson at the French Hen at 10:00 but I can't find the post so I'm assuming it was posted during a CD-AOL issue day.

The 19th I'm on floor so an early lunch would actually work best for me if everyone is agreed...

I can't do either Friday or Saturday evening on that weekend...Sunday afternoon might work. And the 10th...Wednesday evening works for me.
Everyone else?

I'm really sorry...
Well, we've all become quite busy, haven't we? I am surprised to see how few posts we have here in this thread these days.
I apologize for coming here so late but I am here to say that I won't be able to make it after all. I was planning on coming with Boof and it turns out she has to work. I was still going to come but I've been trying to get accepted to attend a training in St. Louis this weekend but they want me to show proof that I qualify for it. I can't seem to find proof that I've had the previous training so I've got to chase down another copy and get it faxed in today. Hopefully, I can get it and turn it in before the class gets full and I "miss the boat".
I hope you have a great meeting!

Did you or didn't you?
So, I can't help but wonder...did you have the OTFCC after all?
I hope you did but have just been too busy to come back to tell us all about it. If you didn't, I hope you're all still planning to join us for our big December party in Springfield.
As it turned out, I wasn't able to attend the class I hoped to attend this weekend because I didn't have all my paperwork in order. I am studying for my final online web design class, though. The final lesson was released yesterday and now I'm studying for the final test. I may take the holidays off from learning and continue again after the new year. I don't know, though. I took an entire year between my two web design classes and was afraid I'd forget too much to do well on the second one. Well, that's a whole lot more than anyone needed to hear.
Haha! I knowwww!
Okay, so will someone please tell me if you actually had the OTFCC gathering?

Father moving to Branson, now reconsidering
Well, where to start, I guess here would be good. My family moved here end of July 2008 from Northern Illinois. We decided to leave the rat race behind us and focus on our small boys and living an easier life. We couldn't be happier with the school, neighbors and various activities. Part of this PLAN, was that my father would sell his house and move in with us. My mother died about 2 1/2 years ago after fighting breast cancer for more than 4 years. My parents were married 43 years and I think lived happily ever after until my mother passed. My father has dated women and was trying desperately to replace my mom. He realizes you can't replace someone you love and that nothing will ever be the same. The women he's been dating are more into "driving family apart" than keeping family together. Some people are like that. It's all about them. Okay, so here's why I'm writing. My dad sold his house and now has second thoughts. He doesn't know what to do in Branson, despite me telling him that I've met some of the nicest people I've ever met and that I believe there are unlimited groups or activities for him to get involved in. So what is there to do for a widowed 65 year old man. Please tell me because I know in my heart he needs this. Any suggestions?

lanham...I think you might be better off posting this on the main Springfield-Branson board, more people will see it. The OTFCC is a great little group and he'd surely enjoy attending one of our meetings...but as you can see we count on people posting here in this thread whether or not they're going...so everyone else will know whether to show up! Unfortunately, if you don't, you may end up sitting in some coffee shop by yourself!
I know there are lots of groups a widowed 65 year old man can join...besides churches & civic groups there are lots of things depending on his interests. Why don't you suggest he start a thread and see who pops in? Does he have a computer? If not...Christmas is coming...

Mrs. G...I don't think anyone went to the scheduled meeting last month. I checked with the people I know and none of them went.
If I'm thinking of going...I usually check in a couple of days ahead to see if anyone else is going...so I think it's really important that we post here if we're going, you know? So people (especially new members!) don't end up sitting in a coffee shop alone...
Do we have a big December party scheduled? We know from experience we won't be able to please everyone...!
