Well, here it is December, and I still haven't ever been able you meet y'all. So much going on here at home and not able to get away as much as I would like to. LJ..I may even have to quit R.E. . DH is not getting any better. Can't leave him for long periods of time anymore.
Hope that everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving and will check in with y'all before Christmas. Take care. See you...

Wha'd'ya think?
Well, judging by the lack of activity here in this thread, I'm wondering if we shouldn't put off meeting until after the winter. Of course, that would change if someone says they're coming in town and wants to get together. I think we should always see how many can get together whenever that happens.
Now, don't get me wrong...I am not making that decision...just the suggestion. Without our leader, MrsC, able to come right now, it seems like we are stuck. Just a bunch o' followers without a leader. We found it hard to get together last winter because the weather and hazardous roads kept getting in the way so I think we've agreed to not meet during the winter, at least not officially. I don't have time to go back through all the threads to find it but I'm pretty sure it's in there.
I think we can all agree that this is the busiest time of year, with all the extra events and shopping so I propose we call off this month's OTFCC...and then wait until March or something to start back up. What do ya'll say to that?

Our leader
Yes, any group needs its leader...and ours is fighting another battle right now. Let's just wait to make any more plans for the coffee club until someone comes for a visit...OK?
If you, dear reader, are planning a visit to the area and were wanting to get together with the Over The Fence Coffee Club...please post here and let us know when...& we'll plan one just to meet you!

December 2008
Well, I continue to have challenges with AOL and CityData...so my post may be in the wrong place of the thread or not post at all.
As many of you know this has been a challenging year....my husband suddenly died in May, I was diagnosed with cancer in July, have gone thru surgery, radiation, and chemo. The latest drama was a reaction to chemo that resulted in a minor Nystagmus which resulted in my walking a little like I've had one too many. The doctor say's in two months I won't notice it.
In the meantime, however, I think the Coffee Club needs a new leader. I've met some wonerful people thru CD both in person and on-line, but it's time for someone else to do the scheduling for coffee. I'll still be around, but I'm focusing on other things for awhile.
Thanks for your support and friendship this past several months...you don't know how much it has meant.j

Well, I completely understand, PJ, but that doesn't make it any less sad news. I had no idea you were going through even more hard times.
Please know that if we do manage to keep it going, it won't be the same without you...and if we don't manage to do more than gather when someone new is visiting our little corner of the state, I want you to know that it won't be because you didn't remain as our leader. You don't need that kind of pressure, either.
Just know that you're in our thoughts and prayers...and that we look forward to the day when you can join us here in the forum and at the OTFCC more often.
Hugs,
MrsG

Half way thru January...
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....everybody staying warm?
We're just waiting out the worst of the winter...some of us are talking about having another OTFCC in March.
If anyone wants to throw out a date, we can plan it...or is there anyone visiting that wants to let us know when they'll be here?
