Cool Be there...or be square!

Well, I finally made my way back here again. I'm excited to see all of my "old" OTFCC friends and meet some new ones, too! This City Data forum and especially, this group, was my lifeline after moving here to MO and I made my first friends here, too.

If you're new to the area or just have never attended one of our events, please come now. Who knows if we can keep them going? This just might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

I can tell you this, though, you won't regret taking the time to be with us, if I do say so, myself! When I got the call from Lake Junkie, I was so excited at the thought of catching up with everyone and I couldn't...I wouldn't...miss it! We have a lot of fun and laughs...and we'd love to get to know YOU, too!

Hugs, one and all! Hope to see you there!!!

I hope you guys all have a wonderful time back there! That fence is just still too darned tall for me and Mrs. Northbayeric to climb over it, but I'm always with you in spirit at least.

Well the latest out here in California is that the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge has been shut down for the last couple of days. It was closed for a part of this past Labor Day weekend for urgently-needed repairs and maintenance, and whatever Caltrans did then didn't quite do the trick, as one of the bridge rods went kaplooey and fell into the westbound lanes. The folks in Sacramento, according to this source (Hot Air » Blog Archive » California takes interest-free loan from working people) are going to increase the state withholding tax by 10 percent, theoretically meaning a bigger state tax refund.....uh, except for the fact that our state tax refunds were a teeny little bit delayed this past year. If our refunds come in the form of "registered warrants" (that's I.O.U.s for those of you in Branson, and Promissory Notes for you guys in the Greater Springfield area), I'll be sure to let you know!

At least the weather's been pretty lovely here, I have to admit....

All in good time. Remember, OB is holding a spot for you!

I hate to admit it but morbid curiosity and what became a bad habit compels me to keep up with what's happening politically in CA -- only because my wife and I both worked politics and legislation, you understand. Every morning I "tune into" Rough&Tumble California Policy and Politics which compiles newspaper articles of political note from all over CA. One day I'm sure I'll find a cure!

We're going to miss you by THAT MUCH! We leave Oklahoma around 9ish and won't hit Branson until the afternoon. I was telling NWV it is looking like this Branson virgin will be cutting his teeth on this trip.

Do you guys think I should buy our Andy Williams tickets now prior to leaving or will there be plenty of Andy Williams tickets on sale for the Mon or Tuesday shows?

Red face Awwww...

Gee, too bad we didn't know we could have had an afternoon thing instead...

Another fun time visiting old friends from city-data over coffee today, really glad so many showed up! It's so fun talking about where, when, what of our new lives here.

Is there anyone out there who would like to throw out a suggestion for our next meeting? Let's see...we've done early, we've done pizza, we've done lunch...what do you think?

Ideas?

Yes, A Saturday afternoon Pizza party. I'll drive down and stay at a hotel/motel for the night and not have to hurry in either direction. Would like wine, pitcher of beer, toasted ravioli, salad, Sweet tea, deluxe pizza or something like this. I really don't drink beer. Well, maybe a taste now and then. But everything else sounds good to me. I want and need to PAAAAAAAAArty!!!
