Default Loving Springfield area?

Have been researching the springfield area but need help. What are the monthly gasoline expenses living 45 minutes outside springfield but working in Springfield? What is the acreage requirements for horse ownership? (1 acre per horse or more?) What area would you recommend having great to good high schools, homes w/acreage and 2 car garage that's not a modular or manufactured, and is it possible to find this under $130000. Also, is it hard to get home owners insurance owning rottweilers? I tried to make request of info short, hope it didn't sound rude. Would sincerely appreciate any info and opinions!

Monthly fuel expenses will vary depending on prices and your vehicle. I calculate that at $2.00 per gallon and 25 mpg it will cost you in the neighborhood of $150.00 per month. (someone pleasae check my math).

As for horses, I think 5 acres is about as few as you would want for house and horses on the same property. You could probably keep a few horses then. But I'm really not a horse guy. I've just looked at a few properties set up for horses.

Acreage that far from springfield can be found for under $2000 per acre. I'm not sure what existing homes cost that far from Springfield. You might check with an area realtor for more info.

Right now, fuel in and around Springfield will cost you about $2.15 a gallon. I am not sure about the requirements on horses, but if you are outside city limits in Greene County (where Springfield is) you have to be on at least 5 acres - that is a requirement for the septic system. If you are south in Christian County, the septic requirement is 3 acres.

As a Realtor, I can tell you that if you go as far as 45 minutes out of Springfield, you should be able to find property in your price range easily. Feel free tocontact me for more information.

Default Thanks for being nice

I realize now how the gasoline question was more than a bit ambiguous. Sorry. But have to say the responses were great and as informative as my questions would allow...lol. I know I'm going to like the Springfield, MO area and it's people. Will be trying to get there by summer's end 2007. If any properties meeting my criteria become available...please pm me if you can. Oh...by the way...driving less miles to springfield wouldn't be at all objectionable.
