Red face Moving to Missouri

Hi, my husband is being transferred to Clinton, Mo and we are in need of advice as to if this is a good place to raise our 6 year old son. If not, please suggest other options in that area. Thanks

Missouri is a very friendly area. I would love to raise children here. I think you will love it here. Just be prepared for the winters and the constant weather change, we have a saying here, if you don't like the weather, just wait it will change in a few moments.

Clinton is a small town. There is enough there to get by. It is 1 1/2 hours from Springfield one way and Kansas City the other way. I guess it would be a good place to raise your child depending on your beliefs and feelings of small town life.

What would make it a good place for you? What are you looking for in a community? What are you looking for in a school for your child? What are you looking for in terms of spiritual life? Let us know what you're looking for, so we can offer advice. Also, what values would you bring to the community? What will you offer your new neighbors? If you're coming from a city, chances are you are not going to like a small Missouri town. If you're only thinking of what a town can offer you, then you might be better off settling in a city, because small-town life is more demanding personally. Small town life takes a lot of patience, fortitude, faith, involvement, engagement and imagination to make it interesting for your child. With the right parenting, small-town upbringing is the best and leads to success. With the wrong parenting, it's sheer dead-end boredom.
