Default New to Joplin area, suggestions for places to consign or sell nice antique furniture

Since I no longer own my home, I need to lighten my furniture load. I have some very nice antiques, late 1800's through early 1900's to sell. Does anyone know shops that won't overcharge on consignment fees or will let you set your lowest sales price and tack their fees on top?

haha! That was a cute post! I don't think flea market buyers would want furniture like this.

Is your GSD for German Shepherd Dog?

Right now the antique market is flat. Auctions are getting give away prices. Once the economy settles, you'll be able to sell value. Cover it, box the glass. Do NOT store antique furniture in a basement, attic or rental storage unit if you value its worth unless said areas are heated and cooled sufficiently. Call Cat's Eye in Walnut Grove.. Judy sells a lot of antiques when buyers are buying. She may buy from you. I've known her for over 25 years, plus I managed Cat's Eye Too until I moved to Oklhaoma. 417-788-2939 . She is honest to a foult. Saturday is the best day to catch her in the store. The store is closed during the winter months.

Shows how much I know about such things!

You are correct about the GSD's! I raise and train them as family pet's!

The Germans are dogs of great character. Do you Schutzhund train or know of anyone who does?

I dont use the exact schutzhund methods. I leave that to the owner. I train in the obedience and protection phase but no tracking. As for the protection phase, I usually do a couple of sessions with the new owner after the dog gets settled in if they wish (most do not).

I dont know of anyone who is licened to train the schutzhund method in my area, nor am I certified.

Thanks Liinicx. I will call and see where to go from here. I have the furniture and things all here in the house.

I trained with 2 great trainers in VA that did all phases of Schutzhund and personal protection. I did do basic tracking, but never worked toward competitions. My shepherds were Czech/DDR lines.
I think when I moved here I checked and the closest clubs were in Kansas City. You can google Schutzhund or personal protection clubs in your state and see what comes up for you.
