Thanks, I will put it on my list to visit on one of my motorcycling excursions and look around, but don't feel that it is a practical solution to my needs if I am working in SGF (Springfield, MO). Noted. And thanks again! ;o)

Thanks greytabbie, for your suggestions. I will look them up and see whet I can find.
Have a great weekend!

Fair Grove and Strafford areas are what comes to my mind first. There are a lot of options that fit your short list of criteria, friend. Is there anything else you are, or aren't, looking for in a particular area? Just trying to help narrow it down a bit. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Shadow Caver: many thanks for your post, Appreciate that! ) Lone Sailor : Thanks for your suggestions. Both have a certain charm and appeal and I will be looking at them a lot more to see what I can find. To give you an idea of what I am seeking (1) get out of the hustle and bustle of the city (2) Be able to see trees/green and nature, occasionally see some wildlife (3) breathe fresh air (4) hear the birds sing (5) have a little space so I don't hear the neighbors every breath Thanks again for your help Have a great day and remainder of the week DBCC - Dan

Dan,

You'll be pleased to know that those criteria can be met just about anywhere around here. You should have absolutely no problem finding exactly what you want, many times over.

Dan...if you're wanting to stay within a few minutes of Springfield, I really like the Sparta-Oldfield-Chadwick area. Far enough from the growth zone to be able to count on the above-mentioned trees/green & nature for some time to come...theoretically!

Lake Junkie: You pic on your site is just about what I am looking for! wow! ) I will most certainly check out that area as soon as I get back and see what's available. Thanks so much for your consideration!
Have a great remainder of the week... Take care and Thanx again!

Misplaced1: Have a couple of friends who are realtors in the area. they are making some suggestions but I think I have to give them a few more guidelines, they are suggesting large homes and I am looking for something a little more practical. I's single and don't need a large family home.
Thanks for your input and have a great remainder of the week
Keep smilin' ;o)
Dan

8 Snake: Yep, I know the area pretty well but being outside the country on contract for a couple more weeks, maybe a month, will need to pace out a number of sites before making any hard and fast decisions. Was just trying to plan ahead and reduce options. Thanks for your input and comments.
Have a great day and thanx again
Dan
