Question What about Buffalo????

I posted a thread a few days ago and I might have been a little vague on details. I have found a couple of houses one being in Buffalo. I have driven thru there and it seems friendly. We will be going thru at the beginning of March and would love input on where to stay, decent restaurants, is there dry counties in mo, like there is in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. I like to have a glass of wine with my steak . What is the produce like in the grocery stores. Is it best to grow ur own or can I find a wide selection in the stores? We don't have any children in the house anymore but our grandchild will be coming to visit during the summers. So what is there to do in the bustling city (town) of Buffalo???
Thanks
Christine

Well truth Dallas County is going to the Poor House. If you don't care about a Jobs or Schools you will be ok.I don't know if the economy is changing it but there was a High number of Illegals there.

There is a pretty good restaurant next to Woods Supermarket on the corner of 32 & 65 HWY's.Then there is The Time Out Cafe just East on 32 Hwy.

There is a Comfort Inn West on 32 HWY.And Goodnite Inn on South 65 HWY.

Drinking is a Good past time.No dry counties.

Woods usually has good Produce. Not sure about the Amish down there, but if you drive North East durring the Summer to Lead Mine, which is Mennonite Community there is the very best in seasonal Vegatables.Oh there is a Mennonite Bulk Food Store about 8 miles North on 73 HWY.

Well if you like Golf there is a Course South on 65 HWY.If you like to fish and Camp there is Bennett Spring State Park, trout Fishing. Its East of Buffalo either on 32 HWY or 64 HWY.Pomme De Terre Lake is just to the North West of Buffalo, real good little lake.If you like Canoeing go towards Bennett Spring there is all kinds of Outfitters there. If you like Camping,Hunting,Fishing,Hiking,Shooting or have a Horse and want to go riding there is Lead Mine Conservation Area,it is next to Lead Mine in the North East corner of the county.

Don't mean to be so down at the start, but the county hasn't done anything to bring any kind of good Jobs into the area I know for the last 15 years.Bolivar and Lebanon seems to have the better Jobs.

have to second that one. Just moved to Nixa from Buffalo. I lived there for 6 years. Not a bad town per say. Like any town, it's run by a good ole boy system. But biggest problem is the economy. Yes, it's bad all over, but it's been bad in Buffalo for awhile and getting worse. Most people that live there drive to Springfield or other towns to work. It's funny how Buffalo and Bolivar used to be about the same size and now Bolivar has really grown. Lebanon has been really growing too. Buffalo just keeps shrinking.
