WOW, that's alot of crime in this area....... I'm not so sure Springfield is safe and a great place to raise a family. Over 10,000 thefts.
Hi heaton,

How about right outside of Springfield? Christian County seems alot more family oriented and the schools are great. Both Nixa and Ozark have their own walmarts and eats and their schools seem better. People are real nice for the most part. Not to mention they have more rolling green hill and I keep telling myself that tornados don't like that as much as the flatter Springfield area, lol.

Who are we trying to kid, ourselves? Springfield is anything but a "nice place to live." I suppose if you have always been here you have no context by which to evaluate it. If you have had the good fortune to live somewhere else, then you know how backward, rude, and blindly self-congratulatory this group of red-necked hill billies are. My contention is that the violent crimes per capita is so high do to the fact people HATE living here.

Where do you want to live? Instead of digging up ancient threads to complain about how bad it is here, why don't you start a new thread telling locals where you want to move? I will be the first person to donate to your relocation fund.

Holy thread resurrection batman. And all for just this little rant over not fitting in with your neighbors? Hmm, maybe you should have just chosen your neighborhood more wisely. And if you think what you see where you live doesn't exist in every other town, you should try looking past your nose. As far as people hating it in Springfield, if they hated it that bad they would just move.

Springfield is NOT dangerous. I lived there 5 years, 98-03, we never even locked our doors. I lived all over, from the far southside to around MSU campus. It's a great town to raise a family, go to college and start a business. The outdoor activities are endless and we were never bored. I used to love taking a walk at the nature center. We camped almost every weekend during the summer in Mark Twain forest.

Well I know its not the same since I grew up there. My Mom had car trouble twice once on I-44 West side of town Trucker pulled over like he was going to help her, walked up hit her in the Head with a Tire Billy took $100,busted her Teeth and Glasses.Another time she had a flat on Sunshine.Three Punks stoped like they was going to help, throwed her in a Van,drove her around three counties all night, rapped her many times, throwed her in a ditch in the middle of nowhere,no clothes in the middle of January. The Law never found the Guys. But maybe it had to do with the fact she was in her 60's not a teenager.
