We are in the Ivy Bend area of the Lake at about the 55 mile marker, and we still ski. We don't have as many of the big boats in our area. The worst is the people on the wave runners. Its not choppy in our area. I've been skiing since I was 5 years old. (50 years) We don't have the water that is like glass in the area anymore like we did when I was young, but you don't feel like you are skiing in a hurricane either. We try to get out before 10AM, then again after 5PM.

Any sane person stays away from Party Cove!!

Default Lake of the Ozarks

Like many lakes, Lake of the Ozarks gets busy during the summer. However, it has 1100 miles of shoreline. You can find areas to do most anything. Party Cove is just an area where the crazy party people congregate to have fun.

I live at the 7mm. I tube from there over to the 8mm. We go very early mid week on good weather days. Lake of the Ozarks is the second roughest body of water in the US.So it is not very good for skiing. But if you pick a slow time you can find a place to ski.The shoulder times of the year are much better. It also helps when gas goes to 4.00 5.00 a gallon. A lot of the big boats don't get used as much. Which keeps the 4 foot waves to a min.
