Well...I was only 4 when we moved from CA. I wanted to stay and experience all California had to offer, especially since I was born on the coast (Ventura)but my mom said "No" But if I get a hankerin for big city crime...I can just go to KC or STL, you don't have to go to CA to find crime.

Crime is going to exist with or without diversity.

Can somebody explain to me - what is so great about 'diversity'??

Dearborn is diversified, Detroit is diversified, Miami is diversified. Which community would you model for Branson??

Just a mater of degrees, right??

Actually Detroit is one of the most segregated metros in the country and is not at all diverse.

Maybe I don't know what 'diversity' means. Is there a percentage of different peoples to define it??

Oh, bother! If someone is looking to "celebrate their diversity" they'd probably be best sticking to St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia or Springfield that's trying hard to do just that. Realistically, the Ozarks are pretty homogeneous.

There are some ethnic restaurants around but not a great deal although they're becoming more common. We find that a good thing. However, population- and entertainment-wise, not so much. That's just the reality.

However, since you bought a home in Springfield quite awhile ago you already know all that, right?

I just now returned from the 3:00pm performance of "The Legends in Concert" in Branson.

There were five Blacks (The Temptations) on stage, not counting "Michael Jackson. And at least ten Blacks in the audience and it was a very small audience.

Is this a good observation, or what??

We used Whispering Hills last year and really liked it. They have a breakfast bar AND an ice cream & cobbler bar at night, which warmed the cockles of my heart. I heard Amazinn was good and they also have breakfast.

I'm not a big music show person, but Pierce Arrow was fun. Love Silver Dollar City and there are some neat museums. Be sure to check out the museum at College of the Ozarks.
