But, also, everyone I know is in this county. All family, friends, and sentimental ties. The other day I drove my kids past my old babysitter's house so they could see it. I shop at the same grocery store every week where my mom took me when I was little. We live in a beautiful area 2 miles from my husband's parents, and he takes our son to fish in the pond he fished in as a child. Moving is a big decision. Without a crystal ball, we just don't know if it is the right desicion until we do it.
By the way, that lightning storm was AMAZING! We have a huge meadow across from our house and the lightning was flashing continuously over it for a very long time. I was thinking, "This is like Missouri!"

These things are something that will be irreplaceable if you move. Just having your kids part of their Grandparents lives is something so precious. Living close to both sets of our parents is something I wouldn't trade for the world. It was so special for our kids to grow up near them and now that our parents are older and beginning to have health problems, I can't imagine what it would be like to live hundreds of miles away.
Please make your decision carefully. I know I would hate it if my husband was only home on the weekends, but there might be another job in his future. As Bassman and some of the others say, once you leave cali, it's hard to go back.
