moving to springfield in November
Want to make sure I get the best deals and I know the locals will help me out.
1. Best Cell phone service.
2. Best Cable service
3. Best Internet service.
4. Best water company.
5. Best Utilities company.
6. Best Car Insurance company.
7. Best home insurance company.
I'm hoping this saves me time from doing research on what's the best deal/service.
Thanks, any other help will be nice.

First, buy winter clothes. I lived there for over 20 years. Never was warm until May every year!
Unless a lot has changed, as far as water, gas and electric goes there's only one of each and it's Springfield City Utilities. City Utilities: About CU
I'm sure the residents will chime in on the other questions.

lol It's warm before May, at least to me. But not compared to Hawaii I suppose.
I have found Alltel (soon to be Verizon) is the best carrier for this area.
When I compared car insurance rates, Progressive was cheapest for me.
I actually live just over an hour outside of Springfield though, out in the boonies, so in-town folks may recommend otherwise.
Welcome to the area!

I assume that you're going to be living IN Springfield. If so, then...
1. Best Cell phone service.
Alltel/Verizon has the best coverage in and around Springfield, in my experience.
2. Best Cable service
There's only one. Mediacom
3. Best Internet service.
If you want cable internet, your only option is again Mediacom.
4. Best water company.
City Utilities is the only one.
5. Best Utilities company.
City Utilities is the only one.
6. Best Car Insurance company.
You're going to have to do the leg work. Way too many variables.
7. Best home insurance company.
You're going to have to do the leg work. Way too many variables.

Glad to hear that Verizon has the best coverage up there, too. I have Verizon now, so that will make things easier when I move to Springfield in 2010. All I will have to do is get my phone number changed and go to a national plan instead of my present (very outdated) local plan.
I'll probably stick with the same car/home insurance (Allstate), since I am probably getting discounts for paying promptly and not making any claims since I went to them 7 years ago. I don't really like any insurance company, I must admit.

What is the best Bank in the Springfield area. Needs to change over my banking. We now bank at Wells Fargo, but they aren't in Springfield.

I don't know about the "best" bank in the area, but I've been with Commerce the whole time I've lived here and don't have any complaints. Great Southern is another bank with a large presence in the Springfield area.

Best bank in my opinon is Great Southern Bank. I have banked with several others and always prefer great southern! I have also worked at a bank for years which is not great southern. You will find one almost on every corner of town. They have ATM's all over town as well as branches and ATM"s in locations hours away! Customer service is great and the hours are great! They are even open on most holidays.
