Where the heck is "CASSVILLE"?
We are considering purchasing a home in Cassville, MO but we have absolutely no idea what the area is like. I am retired so don't need to worry about finding work, just need to be able to find a good "fishing hole" and a "golf course"!
Does anyone know anything about the area? Is it all flat land? Pics that I can find on the internet don't show much of the surrounding area. How about the people? Is it a safe place to raise a teenager?
Hmmmmm, well if anyone has any first hand knowledge of the area and/or town would love to hear from you.
Thanks all and have a great day!

Cassville is a nice little town on Hwy 37 about 65 miles south of Springfield. It is near lakes, and several rivers and countless streams. No it is not flat, the town itself is fairly "level" but there's nothing flat for long in SW Missouri! They have a well rated school. I grew up 15 miles from Cassville and my mother now lives in that town, so I have spent many many days around there. A typical rural community with all pretty nice people. It has a golf course, and there's another one up near Monett. Check out the various sites' information: Cassville, MO - Google Search
Roaring River State Park is nearby and it is a beautiful spot on this planet! One of my favorites. If you like to fly fish for trout, you'll think you died and went to heaven.

My parents live outside Cassville. They are retired, but have an active social life. My father goes to the golf course daily.
The area is primarily rolling hills. It is quite near to Roaring River which is a beautiful park, and the Mark Twain National Forest. It's also a short drive to Beaver Lake or to Eureka Springs. And it's not far to several casinos, if you like to gamble. Springfield, Joplin, and NWA all are within easy driving distance for shopping and other entertainment.
My parents haven't had any experiences with people on drugs, though I'm sure that, like everywhere else, there are people using.
