Talking Need Help finding a vet and a good kennel for boarding

I am planning a move to Springfield, Mo in the near future - I'm bringing my doggie - a Maltese - with me. She is eleven and ........well having some issues - lots of allergies in Austin where we currently reside. I want to be sure that I have a vet for her first thing in the event that one is needed. I trust you folks to give me your honest opinions about the local vet talent and also the kennels that do boarding - I'm also in the market for a short term apt. rental - (the nice end, with good clientele) while I do some house hunting, and in the South towards Nixa and Ozark - and tell me is that where I should live? Thanks for your advise and opinions.

I use Sunshine Animal Hospital and am very satisfied...but I use them for my pet cockatoo. So I'm not sure how helpful that is to you. Welcome to Springfield!

Thank you for responding to my thread. Any input you have on finding a short term rental? How long have you lived in Springfield. I was there for a visit a month ago and I liked the area. Am looking forward to being a resident.

My vet is in Branson, but I used to use Bradford Park Veterinarian. I loved the guy and so did my dog. Ask for a young vet though....one of the older guys is a bit harsh with the dogs and the parents.

Can't help on the apt. thing. I live south of Spgfield. But if I were moving to the area, it would probably be in the southern area of the city. It seems to be newer with a lot of commercial ammenties. Depends on where your job is going to be and how far you want to commute.
