Hello all, my husband and I are thinking of moving to Branson Mo. I have read some post on here and saw that it is over populated. We are looking for perhaps and smaller community out that way, We've decided to move sometime ago but we were not sure where. At this moment we reside in Kansas and it just does not offer a lot to do espcecially when you have children, unless you wish to drive miles away. We are looking for a safe place to raise our children a place that accepts all nationalites and has good schools. We are also trying to find jobs down there, I am a daycare provider here in Kansas and would love to persue that, once we relocate. My husband works for the city and a securtiy guard.. We are not having any luck finding information that would go more in depth about the areas around there... we are I guess what you would say middle class people, so we are not looking for expensive places to live but do not wish to live in run down parts. I myself favor the old vicotorian homes. We have 8 children and need a nice size home to accomodate them...any suggestions? My husband is also trying to get a job with Silver Dollar city, I am sure he would like a place pretty close to that. If anyone can help us with this we would greatly appreciate it.
Have a great day ![]() |

Hi MzToni
I'm amazed you never received an answer to your post. Hope I can be helpful. Prices for housing are relatively high in Branson proper. Outside areas are a little cheaper. Child care is a much needed commodity and if you can get yourself set up in a good location, you should do well. Go to http://www.cityofbranson.org for city job listings and links to other sites. Security jobs are available and you might check http://bransonlanding.com for more opportunities. As far as 'run down areas', there are a few, but not many in Branson and surrounding towns. Check listing for areas like Forsyth, Hollister, Branson West and Kimberling City for real estate. All are reasonably close. Depending on where you end up, the school will vary. 8 kids, WOW! Good luck in your search |

just another note: Branson is growing big time, there are several large developments planned and sounds like there will be alot more influx of people. The people part is good, however, talk about traffic.......from one end of branson on 76 to the other can take hours. So, when deciding where to live....make sure you plan your transportation routes that will be beneficial because it will get old really fast if you do not make that your number 1 concern when living in Branson. There are alternate routes which help but just keep it on top of your mind

We visit Branson area every year as my mother in-law lives on Table Rock lake. Traffic is a major consideration especially in the summer. They have built many alternate routes but stay away from "the strip" and Silver Dollar City.

You might want to try Texas County. We just bought a home in Cabool. We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1600 sq. ft home on 5 acres with a 3 tier deck that leads into a pool all for $65,000. Our taxes a year are $273. We are paying almost $3,000 a year in taxes in Michigan. We are moving down in June and we can't wait. The view that we have from the deck is to die for. Rolling hills. It doesn't get better than that. Check out the area.
Good luck, Jim and KIm |

Hey Mz Toni...I live in Hollister which is right next to Branson. It's my favorite place next to St. Louis which has Trader Joe's. ![]() The traffic is totally avoidable. Even in summer, even on weekends. Except for the bottleneck past Silver Dollar City...and folks here say that if you have a skill, like a trade, you're better to start your own business. Look at Hollister, Ridgedale, Blue Eye areas...and remember that those tiny towns have a huge rural mail area. When you see a house online that says "Blue Eye"...it may not be anywhere near the town. Talk to the Chamber folks, everyone here is nice. So many people have been moving here from all over the US it's nicely diversified. For the midwest! Good Luck...ask me if you have any questions! |

My husband and I ARE relocating to the Branson area. However, we bought property in an area that was developed outside of the Cape Fair area. You go through Branson West, take a right and then a left and you are on your way. The "neighborhood" is called Walnut Springs and it is beautiful. There have been some homes for sale; however, most people moving in are building their own homes. We bought the property years ago....acreage at a VERY reasonable price...and our children just regret they did not have a chance to grow up there. It is close to the St. James arm of Table Rock lake so if you like the outdoors it is a nice area. I am not sure what school district it is in, however. We pass through Reeds Springs to get there and they have really new schools. It is possible that it is in the Galena district. Sorry I cannot help there. I have several family members in Branson now and we will be living about 25 miles from them. No traffic congestion once you get out of Branson and even then if you know the roads it is not difficult to get around. Good luck!

My husband, brother in law and our two kids are thinking of moving to the tri lakes area. My husband has a background in the restaurant industry and I have a lot of retail/sales. My husband's bro wants an easy job. I have found lots of great homes online...Around the Clock Realty has a great MLS Database. I hope we all can find great homes and jobs there.

Why are there only moble homes in a mid price range? I can't find any rentals. And all the homes i find in our price range are too small.
Do you know anyone who is willing to rent to own thier home? |
