I've been doing my searches and have found some nice housing a little cheaper than usual, but probably because some are literally right across the street from the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners. I did a google search for any escapes and came up with nada. We're armed for a short war so I'm not afraid if there's an escape, but it's kind of something you ought not deal with, you know? Anyway, the real question is do any of you Springfield natives remember if there has been any escapes?

The only one I can think of was maybe around 40 years ago.But on the most part I have never heard of one.

I wouldn't worry.

Most of the prisoners there are on their last leg. Cancer and such. Nobody is much interested in running away. At that point they just want to survive.

Although you are sensible to consider the safety of the area, I do not think that there is a realistic danger to be concerned with. Especially if you are armed. (Buying a police scanner is a good idea too).

If I were a sick escaped prisoner, the last thing I would do is hole up right next to the place I escaped from. Maybe steal a car from there then get the heck out of Dodge. As someone else mentioned, most prisoners there are terminally or seriously ill, not likely to try to escape without chemo drugs or a dialysis machine. I've always thought it might be a good place to work (I'm in the medical field.) Not the greatest view out the front door, but I've seen much worse. If you find a good deal on a house you like, go for it!

Escaping with a dialysis machine would probably require Asgard beaming technology wouldn't it? :-)

I wonder if this is where they are sending Bernie Madoff! I heard on the news today that he is being transferred to a medical facility for federal prisoners, but the location of the facility was not released.

Just thought that was fascinating. I don't think Madoff would escape or be a hazard if he did (as long as you didn't invest with him).
