Hello everyone

I have been reading the forums and yall got me kind of worried about moving to the springfield nixa area... we were intending on moving up there after my hubby took the electrical test for springfield.. now im reading there is not much going on. and i correct on saying that or am i panicking... were in an area where the is absolutely nothing going on and we need work so what is yalls opions? any help would be greatly appreciated..

Nothing is going on.If a Job comes up its a Big Fight as to who gets it.They will hire Family or someone they know before Outsiders.

Anything dealing with construction right now is way down. There are not many jobs, especially for new people who, as hillman says, does not have an "in" whether it is through family or membership in the "old boy" network.

Having a job when you move here would be much wiser IMHO. Or if you have a good skill such as nursing, or something in the medical field, that would be helpful.

This area has been hit by the downturn in employment and the economy like the rest of the US. I agree with 20yrs..your better off having a job before you move, but I would say that would be true no matter where you move in the future. Not sure what "Springfield Electric Test" is for, but if it's a specific profession you might want to check on the status in that field before moving.

I take it to be he wants to be a licensed electrician.
Each city has their own testing for licensed plumbers
and electricians.
