Ok, so here is the deal.

I can't seem to locate a holistic dentist any closer than St. Louis. So I am going to have to visit a "traditional" (shudder) dentist in the area. I've been to ONE dentist here which was HIGHLY recommended buy the receptionist at the holistic practitioner that I went to - and it was a DISASTER. I won't bore you with the details, suffice to say, I wouldn't recommend this dentist to Hitler. OK?

Anyway. Here is what I am looking for. I'm looking for a dentist that works in a small office without a staff of 20. I'm looking for a humble, kind, gentle soul who does not have an attitude the size of Mt. Rushmore. I have had it up to HERE with ATTITUDE.

I could care less about money. If the guy is expensive, fine. It doesn't matter to me. I just cannot STAND people who treat you like dirt. I am looking for someone who has the attitude that we are a "team" and working on this together and someone who will LISTEN to me when I talk to them, not treat me like I am a child or have NOT brains or experience and do not have a clue what I want.

If anyone on this board knows of a good dentist that meets these requirements, please let me know. I really need to see someone as soon as poosible.

Thanks in advance board buddies!

Smile I have an incredible Dentist for you!

Since I am anonymous, I can say there is only ONE Dentist in the area that I would ever go to. His name is Dr. Nick Yiannios. He has his own office close to Big Cedar Lodge, on Hwy 86, a small staff, and he takes a lot of time with me, and explains everything in detail. I promise you this, you will love him.
Let me know if you make an appointment.

I have his web site: www.1VisitDDS.com

Thank you. I will give him a call on Monday and have a talk with his office. Right now I am in the "interviewing" stage. I am not going to make the same mistake I made before and just jump in to a full-blown appointment without having a big conversation with the dentist FIRST. I don't care if it costs me $100 just to sit there and talk for an hour. It's worth it to me.

Thank you for the recommendation. If you want to DM me your real name, I will tell Dr. Yiannios that you recommended him. Your name will remain confidential from anyone else.

I love Dr. Willard in Branson. His office is up a bit on the left past the Yakov theater on 248. He is expensive but very good. His # is 417-336-2404.

Well, I called his office. It was a strange experience. First of all, why is it when you ask what the "consultation fee" is, nobody knows what you are talking about?

The ditsy receptionist answers the phone and I say.... "I'd like to make an appointment to have a consultation with the doctor". To which she replies....Well, um.....we can do an examination for you...is that what you are wanting?

No, not an examination. A CONSULTATION. I want to sit down and talk to the doctor and make certain we are on the same page about how he does things.

"what do you mean?" She asks.....

"I mean - his treatment philosophy. How he handles issues, what kind of treatments he offers, etc., that kind of thing".

"Well, we would always tell you what we are going to do to you. We woudn't just go in there and do things without telling you were going to do it first".

Tell me?

This continues to be the ongoing problem. I don't want someone to TELL ME WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO TO ME. I want someone who I can sit down with and discuss, in DETAIL my options regarding treatment. I want to find out what they think first, and then we can DISCUSS a treatment plan.

Why is it so difficult to find someone who doesn't treat you like you are five years old? *sigh* And why has no one ever heard the word Consultation before?

I am afraid the search continues...
