I have to admit, having only lived here for six months, that a curb and gutter and new streets would be well worth the $2,600 the city is quoting for my section of property. I will not protest the "improvement", although after having gone to the town meeting last night I don't see it likely to happen. It doesn't bother me the way it looks now, it definitely has a rural feeling, as it probably should.

The city is using the excuse to sell this idea that the EPA is going to crackdown on the area sooner or later because of the sediment going into the Santa Clara River. I'm just curious if the areas of Bloomington Hills in St. George would also have issues? Not to mention Kayenta in Ivins? Is there something that makes the old township in Ivins more of a problem than the other areas with no curb and gutter?

Just curious.
