Are there any towns between St. George and Cedar City that offer cooler summers than SG and warmer (less-snowy) winters than Cedar City? This seems possible due to altitude differences and/or terrain. My wife and I love Utah, and on our next visit we want to focus on areas that we might like to live.

It is pretty much just the freeway and a big elevation change between the two. There are some homes scattered. You might check Leeds, a very small community. Once you get over the hill (which can be treacherous in winter) then you are into Kanarravile, a lovely small community.

Yea, there really isn't anything there except for some homes.

There is no magical Mediterranean climate zone in Utah, it's either hot during the summer or cold during the winter.
