PK138, if you go to the Sun City Del Webb website you can get info about pricing. If you google Conestoga Golf Club you can find out about the SCM-affiliated golf course and rates, as well. You may want to check several of the communities as many of the Mesquite resales. Again, I think it is very wise to check out both places before you move. I believe that both places offer deals for folks to stay a few nights, at a minimal cost, so you can use the facilities. If you would like some names of realtors, or folks in the sales office, you can DM me and I will get them to you. However, if you google sun city you will find to a few local realtor blogs about Sun City properties and other Mesquite properties. Good luck in your search.

OK, so we booked 3 day stay for Sept. 2010 Will give a report when we return. I would think it would take 6 months or more to make a move like this from the mid west to Utah. having to down size and sell a house.
What a bummer, all ready to fly out. Had a Doctors appointment for cough and tight chest. SHOCKER " you have had a heath attack in the past month"???? Went into the hospital for heavy testing, confirmed yes I have. Trip is off and waiting for the doctors to make a plan for surgery later in October. What a mess, not looking forward to this. Anyway trip is off until next spring.

Cop2 take care of yourself. While the end of summer, fall, are really nice out here, when you come in the spring you will get to see the wildflowers and all the cacti in bloom.

Default Thanks for the well wishes

Doing OK not that the humidity is lower, I can get out side for a few minutes. Have a Doctors appointment next week; So I will get the lowdown on what they want to do in surgery. And as if not being able to go Good Morning America did a review of the Cedar Breaks this morning. My son has been at the reptile center for the BLM this week in St. George and says the weather is great.

A friend just returned from the St George area...he drove thru Mesquite and really liked it. Thought St George was nice, but likes the idea of untaxed pension...I decided to set one day aside suring my trip to really look at Mesquite...

Jfitt, any other words of advice regarding Mesquite?

Regarding Mesquite, I wish St. Geo. had its time zone. It would be a big deal to me to have the sun "come up" and hour earlier, like it does in Mesquite!

The only real negative for Mesquite is lack of variety in immediate shopping -- great Walmart (never thought I would ever say that but everyone in town shops there--even a Bentley or two in the parking lot); Smith's grocery store--great selection and more variety than Walmart; Bealls; Ace hardware; a few furniture stores; and a new Walgreens. If we want more shopping options we will go to St George (Home Depot, Lowes, TJ Maxx) which is about 35 minutes away and a beautiful ride through the gorge or to the Vegas areas like Summerlin--less than an hour away. From our house to the south end of the Strip is approximately 75 minutes. Mesquite has some great restaurants and, if you should choose, casinos--depending on the day (still haven't figured out the pattern yet)--which can have loose slots. The negatives with the casinos is the smoking, if you are a non-smoker. Casablanca seems to have the best smoke filtration system out of the three casinos. Please feel free to send me a direct message if you need any info about realtors, Sun City staff etc and I can tell you who we used if you would like.

Oh, one more thing and it is a Nevada thing. You can go to the DMV site and put in your VIN number to see what the registration will be for your car. We were a little shocked at the cost because we were used to paying 40.00 a year. However, we also used to have a yearly excise tax, which when added to the 40.00 registration, came really close to the Nevada registration fees. We also ended up saving about 800.00 a year on our auto insurance by moving to a small town.
