My husband and I are thinking of moving to the St. George area. I just lost my job in Californa and we are ready to make a change. We are so tired of city living.

I'm wondering what types of jobs are available in the area? I am in the Executive Administrative Assistant field. What is the best way (or place) to search for jobs in the area.

Another question I have is who to contact to find house rentals in the area?

I appreciate any information you can give me.

Thank you!!!
Rhonda

If you're coming here for work you will be sadly disappointed. Saint George has far more residents than jobs. Even Wal-Mart, one of the main sources of employment here has begun cutting employees hours and instituted a hiring freeze.

With your field expertise though, I would recommend looking into Skywest who has their corporate headquarters here, or possibly even Intermountain Healthcare as some sort of receptionist or something. While St. George is good for getting away from city living at the moment, it might not stay that way for long. For awhile this was the fastest growing city in the nation and is still ranked somewhere in the top 10 I believe. We also just got a bigger airport which means I would expect to see even more expansion.

Now, that being said. I love Saint George and have lived here most of my life. If you enjoy an active night life such as clubbing and bar hopping, you will be sadly disappointed. But, if you enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping etc. Then you will be in heaven. The weather is fairly nice all year long. The only time it is really cold is January, and even then it's fairly tolerable. It was 65 degrees here today which isn't bad. Hope I gave you some good information.
