Default Moving from Ohio to Ivins

Hi all, being from the midwest, we're familiar with pests like mice, skunks, yellowjackets, wasps, and moles.
So what household pests should we look out for in Ivins? Any other common sense tips for Midwesterns headed for southern Utah?
Thanks

Hi! My family and I are moving from Ca. to Ivins in the next few months ( as soon as our house sells). I would love to hear some heads up on Ivins as well!!!
Have you heard anything about the area? What brings you there? Do you have kids? I have 3. (12,9,6)

When I lived in St.George, which is next to Ivins, I had alot of problems with ants. But i think they are just everywhere.
That is such a beautiful area over that way. You will both really love it.

Sorry, retirement brings us there so no kids at home. I'm just tired of the cold (snowed today) and ice.
If ants are the problem, at least I know how to deal with them.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

The biggest pest problem you have here are cockroaches. They are everywhere! Go to IFA and they have a great insecticide that can be used inside and out. Spray every 2-3 mos. Other pests are ants, silverfish, flies, scorpions (rare), plenty of spiders, etc.
