We are not in st George right now and wonder how big the impact of the games on traffic and facilities. We are still considering st george. Sounds like the games run for three weeks and this is prime weather. Is it very disruptive? I know it is a positive disruption but i am not a huge fan of crowds.

thx.

We went into town 3 days this past week to shop and eat and encountered no problems. I personally enjoyed the vibrancy these visitors bring. They are here just to enjoy and they offer no complaints.

Good to hear. Sounded like a lot of people and i wondered about the impact on locals and facilities. Sounds totally managed.

Cheers

Can't say that I've seen any greater traffic or problems getting around town.

Remember, it's the Huntsman SENIOR Games, and they can be kept pretty busy during the day & into the night with a variety of athletic events, so it's not like locals need to board-up their windows & hide their 3 wives & 15 daughters at night until the event is over.

I volunteered with the events numerous times & the people were always very friendly & appreciative, not the type going out to loot & pillage after dark, and be high-speed offenders in their Buicks.

Only downside I think an average person would find is the occasional road closure due to some sort of race event using the road, and some restaurants being much busier.

Doggiematic - well that is certainly a relief seriously - it was traffic and closures that was the concern. Seemed like a lot of people coming into town at one time. Sounds like traffic is not much of an issue.

Thanks for the good laugh.

Cheers
