I understand the bit about railroad towns and how they died when the railroad stopped needing the water stops and service locations close together.

But exploring in Google Earth, it has a strange feel, kind of a like a place that people just forgot, rather than died, for other reasons - meaning Modena.

I see land for sale or auction in Beryl regularly on Ebay (and sometimes elsewhere). Yet, there's pretty much nothing there. Is it all owned by some one person now, or was there some real estate scheme cooked up that eventually went south after a bunch of people bought in?

I can't seem to find much online about either.

So, I thought I'd ask somewhat more "local".

Any information appreciated.

This may seem crazy, but Beryl always seemed to me to be more in the outer realm of Cedar City and for people of St. George, Cedar City is the beginning of the 'other part of Utah' You might get better responses in the general Utah forum - sorry
