Foreclosure of reverse mortgage? The people died? The heirs couldn't get the house to sell? I believe that's the only way a reverse mortgage forecloses...true? How does this happen Jfitt?

i live in sunriver. the developer, after his sales people told prospective buyers that the undeveloped acres around sunriver would have small commercial businesses like restaurants, cafes, retail shops, etc. low and behold after the lots were sold he went to the city for zone changes and variances and of course his buddies on the city council to whom the developer made large campaign donations approved a 5 story hotel adjacent to homes. suites in the hotel have a clear view into the yards and bedrooms of some of those homeowners who live just across the street from the hotel. Never mind the hotel lighting issues, traffic, and crime which will result. Not only that but there will also be an automobile or RV sales lot adjacent to SunRiver. and he said that was just the beginning of commercial development in the area. So future buyers beware. Don't believe anything that SunRiver sales people try to sell you. On the plus side, people looking for good buys in SunRiver may soon find many to choose from. Don't believe too much of the BS you may find on any forums which may come from SunRiver promoters or those trying to sell you their property.

The same holds true of any development in southern Utah. This area is extremely corrupt. Do not count on promised amenities unless they are already built. Do not trust that the large vacant lot adjacent to your home won't become a busy multi-story structure. Also, do not trust that the soil or other geological conditions under or around your home are stable.

Boy did Cedarite call it. We have friends that bought near Snow Canyon, near a turtle crossing. This was a place that could NEVER be developed, right? No, powers that are (good ole boys), got the turtles re-routed. If it weren't so sad it would almost be funny. Money trumps everything here. Do your own due diligence when buying a place and consider buying somewhere already developed (maybe with big lots), so you won't get any surprises up the road.
