Thanks for the pictures
Thanks so much for the pictures !!
Yes, I think I have come to the decision to go with Colorado Springs....this has been a hard decision (and I haven't even been there yet) but from what I have read and seen I think I will like it there. St. George is beautiful, and love that sunny weather, but there are some drawbacks to the area, so in the end I have decided to go with Colorado Springs !! Thanks again!

The truth of the matters is....
I totally agree with you. I noticed that myself as well. It is very obvious that Cool lets the Cat out of the bag. I know it's very difficult for those who are LDS to accept that your own people are behaving in a very unjust to those who are non-LDS.
Look it's very simple..as long as you stay in your house, pay taxes and bring your money and invest in their bank then that okay and acceptable but if you apply for a job and try to socialize with the neighbors who are LDS, you could forget about it! You will be replaced by someone who is an LDS member and that's that. Bottom line. I am a victim to this myself. I am tired of having to explain that I've been let go of two jobs because they replaced me with LDS member who went to their bishop and asked for employment and received help by LDS employers here in ST. George. It's terrifying to seek employment here. LDS employers promise you benefits, raises and so forth and so on but then 3 or 6 months later, your given a pink slip and useless to file with the labor board. However, I know the law and I filed and won. Just because this is a state that they call "a right to work state" which is better none as "Your Fired and tough luck!" I mean what the hell are you suppose to do when your just like anyother responsible citizen and tax payer. We have family, mortgage payments, bills, just like anyother LDS family. What are we suppose to do when your given a pink slip and accept a position that pays only $8.00 bucks an hour for GOD sakes! I'm fed up with being a victim for these employers. All I want is to be given the same respect as the LDS members receive by employer and law enforcement and everyone else that I come across that is LDS.
I am an American citizen, I have a lot to offer in the professional field, I am worth more then 8.00 dollars an hour and I can voice out for others that we are getting sick and tired of being questioned and threaten that if I say profanity or I'm out of context that I will be 86 from the forum. That's bull crap! What for? Cause I and other are saying the truth! I will say this that NOT ALL LDS MEMBERS treat you disrespectful. I have met some very nice LDS members but they do stay within their own space and your not invited. Whatever!
When I'm in another forum and checking information about certain states that I'm considering to move there. I have read some things can be taking out of context but nonetheless it's better to know then not. Isn't this the whole reason for having the forum? That's all I have to say. Now watch me get some stupid message to shut my mouth. I'm just tired of this.
I have helped so many other in the Utah forum with other issues and I know I'm not a bad person..actually I consider myself a honest and an instrument of GOD to help those in the forum. It would be great to get all of us that are non-LDS and those who are LDS to understand eachother and learn from one another because this isn't working out. Something got to be done to stop this terrible act against us.
I know I'm not alone on this issue. Why are we always questioned when we try to explain ourselves of unjustifiable acts that we have experienced? Are you kidding me we'll get our tongue cut off?
Why? I want to know a good reason. This just doesn't make sense!
Anyone agree with me or am I imaging things?

Having TOO MANY choices is making this decision all the harder..
I will continue to read anything/everything I can on this area, as well as others - so I can figure out which place will best suit us. Thanks to all who have responded thusfar, and all those who still will - I appreciate it.

Casselli's maybe if you got your facts straight on your sssumptions it would be taken as truth. a right to work state is one in which there is no forced unionization. Now a employment at will state is different and it is as this link will explain " ALL STATES! Employment At Will States | At Will Employment States As as legal aide, you should know the terms. Surprise your dear California is also an employment at will state. There have been too many posts that you assert things that are exaggerated or just plain not true, ie the being married 25 times if you are mormon. It is like the little boy who cried wolf. After a while you stop believing. You may have had some very bad experiences, but they are not unique to Utah.
As to the unfriendly LDS in Utah, what about California. Cal is known for the neighbors never interacting. You can live next door to people there and never have talked to them let alone know who they are. When you have a culture that is wrapped up in it's family, and church activities, there is little time to spare. If you are not part of that culture or do not want to interact with that culture, then they leave you alone. That would happen with any other culture in any other place on the planet. Easy to accuse the LDS here for all your ills. It is what you make of it.

Blahblahblah! Listen, what you or anyone else has to say about LDS or Utah is friendly and California is not friendly doesn't matter to me. I pay property taxes, I am a Utah Voter, I own a home and property in St. George, I am a good person and NON-LDS (and I say that with pride) I am a Christian, my home is beautiful and my neighbors are very nice. We say hello and chat and that's about it. I have outside friends that I have made here in St. George and have our principals in common. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU OR ANYONE ELSE THINKS ABOUT ME...GET IT! I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AND WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND CAN VOCALIZE WHATEVER WE WISH TO SAY. YOU MAY THINK THAT I EXAGGERATE ABOUT HOW MANY TIMES LDS OR MORMONS (WHATEVER YOU CALL YOURSELVES) BUT IT IS THE GODS HONEST TRUTH. I PERSONALLY KNOW OF 2 WOMEN THAT IS LDS AND HAS BEEN MARRIED 7 TIMES THE OTHER GOING ON HER 5TH MARRIAGE. WE DON'T SEE THAT IN CALIFORNIA...SORRY BUT IT'S THE TRUTH,DEAR.
Also as the at will state. Yes, California is an at will state but that does not mean that your employer can just terminate you because of religion or because your a female or because your of another race. There are LABOR LAWS that protect the worker. Utah also is an at will state but Utah gets away with unjustifiable acts that are against the Labor codes and no one gives a dam until now. Everyday there are more and more californian Angelinos moving here, more catholic and christians and more hispanics and other races moving here. The Mormon state is losing it's power against the new upcoming changes because Utah state opened it's arms and welcomed us to buy land and build a home. So who's fault is that? You don't pay my bills, taxes, mortgage and even know me. So, if your happy in your little trailer home and being a tour guide...Well then go for it! I'm not standing in your way. However I have the right to tell those who want to know if there is racism and how difficult it is to find a job with good paying wages. What's so wrong with that?
Can't you see how many people at large and not only CA state, but all other states that check into the Utah forum ask about the MORMONS? ARE YOU BLIND? They don't have to read the Utah forum to not know that Mormons are prejudice and racist.
Our own visitors are afraid to visit us because of the reputation that Mormons have. Surely, your not blaming us for sort of disfunctional acts the LDS Mormons have done and do to others? I think you need to go to your ward and talk to your bishops and elders and high priest and let them know what is going on and how Mormons are being precived.
I am not going nowhere. I love it here. I will not allow anyone stand in my way of happiness. I will move when I well and ready to do so. In fact, my plans are to live and know other states and also live in different countries. I love traveling and meeting all sort of people even Mormons, but only the nice ones.
