You have to admit, AB is lowest common denominator crap. But the other local brews are quite good

I can agree with that. AB makes beer for people who don't like beer. Some of it is drinkable though, and they do make some good craft varieties (that you can never seem to find).

Schalfly is quickly gaining status as the official beer of St. Louis and you can find it everywhere. I am a huge fan of them, Six Row, Square One, and O'Fallon. I love the microbrewery culture that has really taken off here. In fact, there will be three more craft breweries open by the end of the year.

Now as for pizza, I think St. Louis is a great pizza city. Even if you hate provel there are a ton of places like Pi, Joanies, Black Thorn, Onesto, Ciceros, Anthoninos etc. Personally I am a huge fan of all styles so there are a ton of choices for me.

Beer snobs need to get over themselves.

Budweiser and Bud Light aren't two of the best selling, most popular beers in the world because they suck. They don't have to be your favorite but to try and say that people who don't like them "don't like beer" is LAUGHABLE. AB sets the standard so I could actually say that if you don't like AB then YOU don't like beer, but that would be asinine and I'd come off like a huge douche. Huh, funny how that works.

Don't really get the hostility but I definitely stand by my statement. People who are really into different beers (I guess you could say, "beer snobs") usually have a negative opinion on all mass produced beers, whether it's AB, Miller, Coors or whatever. Craft beer is much more flavorful, has more of a "beer" taste (that is more hops, different types of hops, different temperatures etc...) and produced in so many different varieties than the mainstream stuff, which are almost always watered down lagers. I still drink bud light, bud select, and all those brands too on occasion. I even said in my post that I appreciate the craft beers that AB has produced but that it's hard to find, especially on draft. So I am by no means "anti-ab" but I don't feel they are active or even all that interested in producing beers to appeal to so-called "beer snobs". If we are to follow your logic, Justin Beiber must be an excellent musician since he tops the charts these days. Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's necessarily good.

Moreover, I am involved in several local charities who have always counted on a generous donation from AB and now get the shaft, thanks to InBev. I will always appreciate the largest brewery in the world right in my hometown, but I don't feel they are as connected to St. Louis as they were before. I feel that Schlafly is filling that void, which is just as well as their beer is better anyway. Sorry if that's offensive.

Craft beers are more flavorful.

Besides AB/Inbev essentially screwed alot of good people out of work. I don't buy any inbev product

St. Louis water tastes better than I've had in any other city I have lived (Columbia, Chicago, Kansas City). Chicago's is absolute swill.

LA/OC water tastes like dust. Blech

StL water is pretty good.

Best water?

We had a well in upstate New York friends and family would bring bottles and fill with our tap water.

There is also an artesian spring in Stony Brook, Long Island (end of the road, near the harbor and well known to the locals) you always see people filling bottles.

My grandma (from STL) loves her water. It's all she drinks when she is home, and when she visits us in Chicago she won't even touch our water. So STL must be doing something right

Well it tests clean and tastes good, so I'm not sure your point.
